Boss attacks: quad Kaytlyn Harmony Eltanin Chigaru

“Bring her in close! We’ll hit her with a broadside barrage,” Kaytlyn yelled as she leaned over the side of the skyship, holding onto a rigging rope. The wind whipped through the fennec kitsune’s hair as her five multicolored tails flicked out behind her as the vessel picked up speed. Brick Brick floated behind her head with a vertical halo of rainbow-colored violets.

 

“Don’t tell me how to fly my ship,” Eltanin shouted back at her as the paperdemon turned the wheel hard to starboard to swing the ship into position. Sixteen cannons popped out of the side, ready to fire on Laguna. “I’m still getting paid for this, right?”

 

“You will be probably be paid… maybe,” the druid sentinel responded as she weaved a magical circle with a series of hand motions. Once complete, the mystical arrangement coated the ship’s cannons with power. “Fire the cannons!”

 

“I’m the captain I give the orders! Fire,” the pirate paperdemon growled the order. “I’m invoicing you for every shot used.”

 

Below deck, Harmony ran back and forth, trying to figure out how to operate the cannons. Why had she volunteered for this mission? She was an entertainer, not a pirate.

 

“Why isn’t there an instruction manual for these,” the brown-skinned cat girl sighed as she examined the cannon. Next time, she would be sure to ask better follow-up questions when someone offers her a ship ride.

“Just put the ball in the cannon and use a touch of magic to set it off,” Chigaru instructed as the skull-faced wolfman appeared in the shadows. He’d been stalking around in the shadows for a while, but now it was time for fun.

 

“Where did you come from,” Harmony shrieked, dropping a cannonball as her tail puffed out. Slowly, she started to back away from the man, who had his wolf jaw exposed. 

 

“Where are you going? We’re just starting to have fun,” Chigaru laughed as he set off several cannons. This job was quite a bit of fun. It’s a good thing he decided to stow away today.

 

Meanwhile, on the deck, Kaytlyn and Eltanin continued to argue about payment. None of the cannons were hitting their target, although the water around Laguna was thoroughly menaced. Harmony managed to sneak above deck and decided to wait this all out while planning to jump ship at the next dock. Chigaru had the time of his life firing off all of the ship’s guns, even the ones that weren’t pointed the right way.
