Chapter 44: Flash 2-5
Varick and Taro managed to chase Valentine Fey into a dead end enclosed by rocks. There was no way for the creature to burn his way out of this one. Needles and arrows were drawn and pointed at the fey arsonist, ready to strike him down, when suddenly all the weapons disappeared.
βNow, now, why would we need to fight when instead we could dance,β Valentine Fey shouted as music started playing around them. βBest me in a competition of footwork and I shall admit defeat on this day.β
βYou any good at dancing,β Taro asked, trying to figure out where the music was coming from.
βIβm a horse of many talents,β Varick laughed as he offered the bird his hand. βFollow my lead, and lets kick his ass.β Valentine Fey opened strong, using magic to enhance his moves, but the blonde Clydesdale would not be outdone. Ever the showman, Varick busted out a variety of tosses, spins, and fancy footwork that left Taro in a daze. Quickly, the bird realized that all they needed to do was surrender to the pull of their partner.
βWell then it looks like I am defeated,β Valentine Fey lamented as the music ended. With a quick clap, he disappeared, and Varick and Taroβs weapons returned.
βYou ok,β the equine tailor asked, looking at the bird.
βJust a bit dizzy,β Taro answered, a little unsteady on their feet.
