Chapter 55: duocast Kaytlyn and JAAK

Kaytlyn hurried to clean up the house after destroying the mimic. She had destroyed her gift for Vondell fighting the mimic, and there was no time to get another one. Frantically, the young fennec checked the other presents with a shake and decided one labeled for her nephew would be close enough. A knock on the door made Kaytlyn jump a little before rushing to the door.

β€œHay Kay,” the skunk with rainbow-dyed fur called as the door opened.

β€œVon! Come in,” the sandy-furred fox ushered her boyfriend inside. β€œHold on one second, and I’ll go grab your gift.”

β€œYou didn’t have to do that. I don’t have your gift yet,” Vondell insisted as he received a box wrapped in red paper. The look on Kaytlyn’s face told the skunk that he had no choice but to open it. As the paper comes off and the box opens, it reveals some penguin walrus plush, to their surprise.

β€œIt’s a JAAK in a box. The latest toy from POGGERS,” Kaytlyn explained as she quickly read the tag.

β€œJAAK no toy. JAAK iws emissawy,” the gifted walrus penguin piped up. β€œNapped in box. Wowk up hewe.”

β€œIt talks,” Vondell exclaimed, confused and mildly scared of what he was holding.

β€œJAAK tawk aww the time,” the emissary smiled as he hopped out of the skunk’s hands. β€œNeed tuwu gow spwead joy awnd kindess.” The strange being to the door and tried to reach for the handle.”

β€œHold on, little guy, I’ll get that for you,” Vondell moved to open the door.

β€œWait take this with you. It’s cold outside,” Kaytlyn quickly wrapped JAAK in an oversized scarf before letting the small penguin walrus outside.

β€œJoy awnd kindness be with uwu,” JAAK called out as he waddled out the door and down the street.
