Chapter 53: duocast Varick and Silvyr - The Present part 1

β€œWhat are you doing here,” Silvyr asks as he opens the door to see Varick standing there. In the mahogany Clydesdale’s hands was a gift box wrapped in blue paper with a yellow ribbon bow.

β€œI’ve come to drop off a gift. A peace offering to bury the hatchet,” Varick explained as he held the box up for the half-elf.

β€œBury the hatchet in my back,” Silvyr suspiciously inquired as he eyed the box. β€œThis isn’t another choking scarf, extra scratchy sweater, shrinking tight pants, or shirt that makes me think I’m on fire, is it?” Varick laughed a little, remembering all the pranks he had managed to play.

β€œNone of the above, and it also isn’t a chunk of metal that makes you cry, drink spilling music, or a microphone that shreds your clothes,” the blonde horse replied, reminding the elven performer of some of his pranks.

β€œFine. Whatever, just put it on the table over there,” Silvyr instructed while motioning to a table. β€œIf it passes a quarantine period, I’ll consider opening it.” Shrugging, Varick put the wrapped gift on the indicated table. He was about to say something when the box shook. The equine tailor ignored it, thinking it was the contents shifting from being moved.

β€œI swear, nothing in there is alive,” Varick vowed as he stepped back.

β€œWhat did you bring into my house,” Silvyr demanded with a shout as the box violently shook.
