Chapter 78: duo Bodhi Ianira
Bodhi heard the siren song start and immediately put plugs in his ears. There was no way he was going to fall victim to a siren. Well, not for a second time. Angling his board sail away from the mermaid, the lifeguard channeled sky magic to expedite his escape. As Bodhi surfed over the water, he saw something flailing. Fearing someone was drowning, the sea otter slowed his approach and reached out a hand to a woman in the water. Carefully, Bodhi pulled her onto the windsurfing board.
βYou good there, bro,β the lifeguard asked the woman, forgetting that he had earplugs in his ears. βMy name is Bodhi.β
βIanira must go to the song,β the clawed feathered woman responded in a trance. A response that fell on deaf ears as the sea otter still had his ears plugged. βSuch a pretty song. I want to learn for myself so I can sing the pretty song.β
βThatβs a no go bro,β Bodhi shouted, stopping Ianira from leaping off the board. With a free hand, the lifeguard tries to find another set of earplugs in his hip bag. Failing to find a set, the otter decides to risk it. He pulls his plugs out and quickly shoves them into Ianiraβs ears.
βOh, huh? Whatβs happening?β the black feathered half-harpy asks, looking around. Did I cause you trouble?β
βNo, Iβm perfectly fine, bro,β Bodhi responds, immediately falling under the spell of the siren song. With a small leap, the sea otter dives off the windsurfing board and into the water. Using his natural swimming ability, the lifeguard swam as fast as he could toward the source of the song.
βIβll just stay here then I guess,β Ianira sighed as she sat on the board.
