"I like your glasses. They're pretty." Caspian's out-of-the-blue complement made the mousefolk standing on his raised forearm shift her weight awkwardly. She wasn't that small to have her place that high, but it didn't make much sense for her to stand on the ground next to a beanpole like Caspian, either.

"Um... thank you," not knowing what else to say, Bleu thanked him.

The sound of approaching steps drew the attention of them both. Bleu's whole body stiffened in terror, as she felt the man's arm tense up in turn underneath her feet. She turned to see Caspian's expression. It was far from delighted.

"Not you again."

Adrian spread his arms to the sides casually as he walked. "Nice to see you too, buddy ol' pal." He had never gotten the tall fellow's name. Buddy had to suffice.

Caspian's face morphed into a snarl. A growl slithered out between the gaps next to his sharpened canines. He could hear his own blood boiling in his ears. The green-eyed man's smug grin was the cause. "Just shut up and leave me alone, would you?"

"Just calm down. We don't have time for this," Bleu attempted to pacify the tall beast, but got no reaction back.

Adrian came to a stop. He lowered his arms, and his usual flirtiness melted off his demeanor. "If there's something I've done to offend you, I'd like to hear it. I can't read minds."

The man had barely finished his sentence before a manic cackle permeated the air like the electricity of an approaching thunderstorm. The trio turned to the sound, seeing Posi doing her mad scientist act right in the open, in her snake mech's open mouth. Caspian let out an annoyed sigh and rolled his eyes. He brought his free hand towards the mad Thath in the distance, and snapped his fingers. The sky opened and wept heavily in the wake of a loud roar of thunder. It changed Posi's laughter into vexed screeching for a short moment. The shifter turned back to Adrian.

The way Adrian stared at him made Caspian stay silent. At first, Bleu didn't understand the smaller man's reaction, until she turned around and saw the same. She had heard the thunder, she wasn't deaf, but she hadn't connected the dots. The mousefolk turned back to the eternal. "Did you just...?"

"Just like that?" Adrian snapped his fingers repeatedly, imitating the gesture the Athos had executed only moments prior. Caspian glanced both the mousefolk and the man in turns, confused.

"Uh... yes? And?"

"What do you mean yes and? That isn't exactly a daily occurrence!" Adrian cried out in response. Controlling the rain like it was nothing wasn't something as normal as the shifter made it look - although for Caspian, it kinda was. He had a friend who did the same, but unwillingly. She didn't understand why the sky shed tears with her when she was sad, but she had just learned to live with it. It was sadly regular enough to offer him a lot of practice with it.

"Look," Caspian huffed, "I talk to myself a lot. It eventually becomes an echo, you know."

Adrian's gaze narrowed. He set his hands on his hips. "No, I don't know. That doesn't make any sense."

"Oh my god," the shifter cursed under his breath in the midst of another sigh at the same time as he set Bleu down. As he started his tread to the mad portal scientist, Adrian and Bleu glanced at each other, both shrugging at the other.

Some people just simply didn't make much sense, no matter how much you tried or which way you looked at it.

Thank you for including my boy. Poor Caspian has a right to feel tired after dealing with him like this.
