Chapter 15: Portal Posi - questionable judgment - 469 words

6. Draw or write about your character finding a portal inside the mech and disrupting it using Posi's own methods to damage the mech.

The whole place shook and trembled. Posi might've been an evil portal scientist, but being aware of her surroundings wasn't her strongest suit. The humongous serpentine mech she piloted had quickly become a hub for adventurers, weaving together plans and finding weak points in the slithering structure.

Lance came to a halt. A puzzled expression veiled the volaitaur's face underneath itself. A strange fellow with a long, dark tail and bright-colored hair had his whole arm inside a portal that had manifested in an old CRT TV. He seemed to be looking for something within.

"Don't you think that's dangerous?"

The cervitaur's concerned question went in one, dual-colored ear, and came out the other. Caspian didn't answer. He only growled under his breath, and suddenly, stuck his whole upper torso through the portal.

Lance could've sworn his fur stood up for the whole length of his lower, blue-hued back. This guy was even more reckless than he looked -  though, on the bright side, at least he had seen the man's face too, instead of just being greeted by a separate... butt.

"Ah-ha!" Caspian's abrupt re-emergence spooked Lance as much as his thoughtless dive had, but for a different reason. Before the poor thing could even react properly, the eternal already tossed something to him. "Hold this."

Lance found himself holding an elephant-like, muddy green trunk of something with stretched-out arms. It snaked from the portal like a limp rubber hose, and let out sad doots occasionally. The man that had given him the abomination was still digging around in the portal, with only his lower half visible.

As if the cervitaur's heart hadn't had enough exercise for the day, the trunk started to spew around water out of nowhere. Not knowing what else to do, Lance grabbed it tight, trying to keep it under control. Despite his best efforts, the chaos doused the mech's insides, leaving behind a hissing mess, that struck sparks like an angry swarm of electric wasps. The stream of water died down as quickly as it had begun. Lance turned to the strange man as he heard his voice again.

"That's a good girl," Caspian praised the creature on the other side as he fully exited the portal. He turned to the volaitaur. "Mind letting Prudence go? She has places to be."

Lance took steps back, dropping the trunk as though it was slimy and disgusting. He watched it slither back into the portal, the cyan-accented oddball waving brightly after it as it did.

"What was that?" Lance cried out, drawing a surprised look from Caspian.

The shifter huffed through an amused smile. "She was Prudence. Don't be rude."

The cervitaur couldn't come up with anything else to say. As his mind drew a complete blank, his pale eyes followed the other, nonchalantly walking away.
