Style Quest: Take This

Chapter 27: Take This

β€œWhat do you think of this outfit, Var,” Tay the kobold asked as he popped into Varick’s makeshift workstation. The Clydesdale tailor saw his boyfriend wearing sweatpants and a half-shirt tank top. Varick said nothing but motioned for the kobold to explain the outfit. β€œGard said training you isn’t enough to keep him entertained, so he’s offering hand-to-hand training for anyone interested. I thought I’d learn a few moves for fun.”

β€œAnd you thought that was an appropriate outfit to train with the tiefling,” Varick teasingly asked his boyfriend. The horse did have to admit black half-tank with grey sweatpants did look good on the red and gold kobold.

β€œI didn’t have workout clothes, and this was all the supply store aboard this spaceship had,” Tay pouted a little at being teased. β€œAll I wanted to do was learn to protect you, just in case.”

β€œOh, come here, Im just teasing,” Varick pulled Tay into a big embrace. β€œWell, if Gard thinks training me isn’t entertaining enough, let’s make him training you fun. Take off your clothes.”

β€œI’m not sure how that’ll help me train better, but I guess a good stretch before exercising is good,” the kobold starts to trail his hands seductively up his larger lover’s pants.

β€œLater, you horny idiot,” Varick takes Tay’s hands off him. β€œFor now, I just want to enchant your clothes with a few surprises for Gard.” There was a small groan of disappointment from the kobold as he stripped his clothes off. Varick started his work with gray sweatpants. The first things that got sewn in were the mandatory warding and shielding spells for a bit more protection than the clothes offered by themselves.

Next up for the sweatpants was a slew of spell threads with different enchantments. There were a couple air powered threads that would boost the wearer’s natural running speed and allow for limited hovering capabilities. A few fire and earth threads were sewn into the fabric to provide extra spice to Tay’s kicks. Lastly, Varick added several water enchantments to the pants that, when strategically activated, make the wearer extra slippery if grappled.

With the sweatpants taken care of, Varick moved on to the half-tank top. First up were the additional warding and shield enchantments like in the bottoms. After the horse tailor added the protective spells, a whole bundle of offensive abilities came to make Tay’s training more interesting for Gard. Attacks like the ability to create gouts of flame, form makeshift weapons from earth energies, turn ambient moisture into shards of ice, and the power to sharpen oxygen into blades were placed in the top by the blond Clydesdale.

β€œThese are more of a spell book now than clothes, but it should make things fun for Gard,” Varick smiled as he watched Tay redress. β€œTell that tiefling thug I can make it even more fun if he wishes.”

β€œThese aren’t going to overload and explode on me accidentally, are they,” the kobold asked as he felt the weight of the ambient magic in the fabric.

β€œNah, you should be fine,” Varick insisted casually.

β€œShould be? Var, what do you mean should be,” Tay tried to ask as the tailor walked away.
