Brief biography: From what would be considered a high fantasy setting, Seifer Horne was an archer and companion to a man he refers to as a King, ((though clarification might indicate that 'jarl' or similar might be equally applicable, and that 'King and kingdom' do not encompass quite the grand swaths of land as some might picture.))

Having been by the man's side since childhood, they went on many adventures together, some of which are represented in some of Seifer's tattoos in white and blue ink, like the one of a bear on his shoulder smattered with stars. Past this he starts to become avoidant, though one might gather that his relationship with this man involved a polyamorous relationship shared by the King's wife, and not everyone was entirely pleased with this relationship. 

This was probably why when called on to make a literal sacrifice, Seifer found himself in the crosshairs. Believing they were simply going on another adventure to purge an tomb of evil, Seifer instead found himself locked inside, alone and abandoned to leave his bones to stand watch over 'the gateway'. 

 Maybe this might have worked as planned if the gateway hadn't been the location of a portal, and Seifer possessed of the latent abilities to open it. 

With absolutely nothing to lose and about half convinced he might actually HAVE died and found out the afterlife was much, much stranger and more colorful than he imagined, Seifer stepped through and is making a point not to look back. Ever.
