Chapter 40: The Labyrinth

Link saw the emense building rise from the dunes in front of him. It was a very huge building that was the begining of his trials for the Orb. He went towards the building, but stopped when Agahnim started speaking again.

"Link, to gain entrance to me you must collect three stones from my three protectors. When you collect all of them, there will be a sign to show you where to go. The three stones are from the pendants that you used to send me here. Their protectors you might know, but still be wary."

He laughed at Link and disappeared with his spell book in hand.

"Thank you Link for the book. It will be a great addition to my library!!!!" Agahnim's voice echoed.

Link finally began again towards the building that would contain his trial. He noticed that on the wall were three golden platelets. The top one said,

"To gain enterence to the lair of the sorceress, you must throw three, then four, and finally nine."

Link, confused by what the platelet said moved his vision downward to the next platelet.

"To gain entrance to the lair of the warrior, you must place six on each."

Now he was even more confused by what that one said, but his confusion didn't stop there.

"To gain entrance to the lair of the rogue, you must destroy ten."

Link just gave up trying to understand what each of the platelets meant and continued on, but not before noting what each one said. He entered the maze with a lot of courage and determination, but after the first hour, he started to doubt himself, Then he just gave up and sat down, trying to still decipher the platelets.

"You give up so easy!" A man's voice echoed in Link's thoughts. "I thought that you were the legendary hero who saved Hyrule so many times before? I guess I was wrong to have chosen you"

"Who are you?" Link thought to the voice

"Only a guide for you on this journey. Now you must not give up. Continue on. You are very close to the Sorceress chamber, careful though, she is very tough. Now get up and go towards my voice." The voice commanded.

Link got up and started toward where he believed the voice was coming from because it kept becoming louder as he crept closer. Finally, Link reached a platelet that said,

"Welcome to the Sorceress's Lair"

He walked in spying a set of two levers. Below each lever stood a silver plaque, the one closest to him said 1 and the other plaque said 2. He remembered the platelets at the beginning of the labyrinth and went towards the levers.
