Chapter 27: Death and Despair

In the kitchen he found a whole lot of monsters waiting for him. They scrambled together and were instantly ready for battle. Link wasn't though. He took some hits with mediocre damage. Then he tried to cast Lightning Bolts, but realized that he couldn't use that spell circle just yet. He then cast the spell Heal Major Wounds and felt very revitalized. He went to work by unsheathing his sword and swinging it back and forth. His first couple of hits might have missed there intended target, but hit other targets in the process. It took a while for Link to dispatch these monsters, but he did so with honor and dignity as he didn't cast the Healing spell in the battle again. Even though his life was very close to zero, he searched the bodies of the monsters for any treasures that they might have hidden from him. He found some healing potions and manna potions, an invisibility potion, an Immolation spell of the sixth spell circle, which he Transmuted into his spell book immediately, and a gemmed arrow which looked very weird to Link anyways. He put all the treasures into his satchel and looked around to see if any thing had appeared from these creatures' deaths. He saw a chest lying in the middle of the room untouched by blood which meant it had appeared after the battle and not before. He went over to it and opened it. Inside there was a device that had a point at the end of a chain that could be released which would either hook a wooden object and pull the person holding it to it or pull an object to them. Link called it a grappling hook. He placed it into his satchel and ran back to the Great Hall.
