uhhhhh cats: groff gets crawled into by other groff and puppeted like a meatsuit

Today, Groff was traveling the multiverse looking for a cool universe to show his friends.

Sadly, he slipped.

Luckily, cats have a righting reflex that makes them move to land on their feet whenever they fall, and Groff was no exception.

"What's this place?" Groff said, looking around. "Wait." He knew this place. "Hey, this is the place where I lost my memories and had chaos powers for a bit-" He turned while speaking to face... another version of himself.

Other Groff had no pupils, only pure white eyes, and that fact caused Groff to jump back in shock, before he realized Wait, that's me! and readjusted himself.

"Who are you?" Other Groff asked.

"I'm you! I'm a multiverse traveller and I was walking around looking for cool universes to take my friends to, but I slipped and now I'm here inste- Hey, wait, why are you crying?!"

"..." Other Groff gritted his teeth. "Let me... tell you... how I... got here..."

One day, Other Groff was chasing a mouse.

The mouse ran across the street. Other Groff ran after it. Both did not pay enough attention to notice a moving car.

Only one paid the price.

"Wake up, cat." A bandit kicked him awake. "Gimme all your gold."

"Gold? What's going on? Where am I?"

"Don't play dumb, cat!" The bandit grabbed him! "Where's the gold!?"

Other Groff instinctively slashed at the bandit's face, but his paw... went through the bandit- not quite through- still struck something.

The bandit dropped him and collapsed. Other Groff stared at what he had done, breathing shaky breaths and trembling.

"... They said I couldn't go back." Other Groff said. "That there's no way to return back home... back to my clowder! But you..." He put a cold paw on Groff's shoulder. "... I can go back to yours."

"What? What do you mean by that?"

Other Groff's paw went through Groff's shoulder, filling Groff with a bone-chilling cold. He couldn't move his body to scream or move away as his alternate self simply... crawled inside.

"I'm going home." Other Groff said with Groff's mouth.

"Wait, why are you stealing my body?! We look exactly alike!"

"Heh... heh..." He put a paw on Groff's beating heart. "I missed this warmth..." He said, accidentally answering his alternate self's question.

"I'm looking to resurrect my dead friend!"

Other Groff crawled out of his current universe and into the paperverse.

"His name was Groff and he and I and everyone else in our clowder were best friends!"

"Finally..." He muttered under his breath. "I'm going home..."

"I won't stop until he's back with us again!"

"Hey, Groff!" Martus waved.

"Hello, uhhhhh" Other Groff did not interview Groff about his life as a multiverse traveller, but in retrospect he probably should have.

"You're possessed, aren't you?"

Other Groff just stood there.

"Alright, I'm getting the possession curing water."

Just a soak in said water and some shaking later and Other Groff just... fell out of Groff's body.

Martus looked from Groff to Other Groff to Groff to Other Groff.

"Yeah, I got possessed by another me..." Groff sweatdropped. "If you would have asked nicely I wouldn't mind sharing, y'know! We could have been like Nora except with only two and the two are me and Other Me." He spat at Other Groff.

"I'm so alone..." Other Groff wept. "I miss them. My clowder."

"We'll get you back to your clowder." Martus said. "Yours. Not another you's that you're stealing from him because your loneliness has made you forget you have a moral compass."

"Do people get possessed enough for you to justify having this possession curing water around?" Groff asked.

"Yes."
