Chapter 2: a cavern's maw - 295 words

4. The Godspawn lifts you with her psychokinetic powers and hurls you dozens of yardsβ€”and into an old well! Draw or write your escape.

"Caspian?"

Hiisi peered down the old well's throat. Her voice echoed and bounced back from its walls. She could see the fresh dents and cracks on the rocks she assumed the man had left behind after the fall. The opening wasn't a small one, per se, but Caspian wasn't small, either.

For the Dinakian's misfortune, the little girl was far from done playing with her new, shiny toys. Hiisi could feel her feet rising from the ground on their own, until her own unevenly distributed weight tipped her over, and into the well.

Hiisi gasped for air when she finally could make out which way was up, and was able to find the water's surface. Her eyes quickly adjusted to the darkness, but the first thing greeting her still felt eerie.

"You come here often?"

Caspian's tone was as calm as ever. Infuriatingly so. His eyes seemed to almost glimmer for a moment before they blended with the static of their surroundings. Hiisi flexed her fingers towards the eternal vexedly. She was relieved to see that he had come back to his senses, but this man. "I'm going to kill you."

"Oh, please do."

"What?"

"What?"

Without giving any more explanation or context, Caspian started to head deeper into the well.

Yes, deeper. It continued in a single direction horizontally further into the darkness, like a cave that had been dug out from it. Hiisi watched after the shifter, as he began to wade through the filthy water. The Dinakian knew the man was a good-enough climber - he had the habit of boasting about it - but if he deemed the straight-up stone wall not on option, she trusted that it truly wasn't one. Hiisi waddled after the eternal.

Damn, he made the crap look shallow.
