aster has the worst experience in his life: beast lacking heart

The Godspawn did not stay down.

And now Aster is currently running.

"Have you yet realized the weakness of mortal flesh?"

On the way, he is joined by a familiar looking cat.

"Hexi! There you are!"

The cat does not speak, just keeps running alongside him.

Aster notices a hollowed out tree. "Follow me! Three, two, one, now!" He jumps. The cat keeps running.

"Run as you'd like, mortal!" The Godspawn shouts out, not realizing that Aster just jumped into a tree trunk.

Aster lets out a sigh of relief, but then realizes, and freezes.

Hexi's still...

He looks around. 

And he sees something inscribed upon the inside of the tree that reads...

'If that BEAST or anything like Him ever reawakens:

1. Get some of their blood

2. WHILE NEARBY THEM draw a sigil that represents something they LACK

3. make up a chant to send them back to hell where they belong'

Aster blinks. Huh.

Luckily, he knows where a whole pool of the Godspawn's blood was.

"HEY!" Aster yells. "Leave Hexi alone!"

The Godspawn turns to glare at him, and the cat bolts off, becoming a mud brown blur.

"You don't have any care for anyone, do you?" Aster grits his teeth. "Is compassion such a outlandish thing to a being like you?!" 

"Mortals like you are like ants. Have you ever burnt ants with a magnifying glass?"

Aster, instead of mentioning that he's from a world where ants are large and made of metal and he has fought them for fun, just growls.

And paints a heart upon the dead grass.
