aster has the worst experience in his life: what started it off

Aster was checking the questboard when a particular quest caught his eye.

“A cat has been spotted around a place that’s… recently began to have trees fall on people… ear piercing screams…” Aster read out the quest, voice shaking in excitement. “Could it be…?” He checked where to go for more instructions.

The cabin stood so naturally among the woods that Aster had mistaken it for a strange tree at first.

Aster went over and knocked on the door.

Creak… “Ah, another woodland creature-”“I’m here for your quest!”

The old lady froze. “... A talking woodland creature. Those are a rare sight. Yet, rather untrustworthy. For what do you wish to trick me into doing?”

“I’m not a woodland creature, either.” Aster said. “I just came because your quest… might be about my sister.”

“Creature with wings of moth and talons of bird, unless your sister has not yet grown in wings and talons-”

“I’m adopted! And she’s older! Even if it doesn’t seem that way!”

“Ah, then… For what uniqueness does she hold?”

“Did the cat you saw have fur that looked like bows?”

“No, not at all.”

“Then she must still be a spookitty… Was she dark purple, with a patch of-”

“The cat was covered in mud.” The old lady interrupted. “And it was much too dark to see. If this cat really is your sister, then she ran across the mud as soon as she saw me and did not make a sound.”

“Yeah, she’d do that…” Aster pondered. “Especially after having cursed so many people…”

“Cursed?”“She instinctively does it when she’s scared.” Aster chuckled. “It’s hit me a few times…”
