This... is a mission gone wrong.

Paliskobengar, simply known as "Paiko" to the public, was summoned to be the escort of the Final Drifter herself, who took on the hardest task to be responsible for rewiring the fabric of reality to ensure the Portals work just fine. He was nervous at first to take the offer, having heard of her chaotic actions that went both ways. However, since she went by herself to do the work, she deviated from her original task due of a distress signal from another world.

But the reports say that she was doing something... questionable.

Paiko gulped as he was standing before the Portal that Lara Kai had went to. It had a strong distress signal that only Lara can sense that she abandoned her original task to help that world. But for what reason was the distress signal being sent out for? Was it a cry for help? Something worse? He was anxious to find out, but he had the courage to step through the Portal that was rewired by Lara herself prior to deviating from her task. He has to bring her safely back once she's done with what she needs to do.

But what he finds on the other side isn't what the others think.

Paiko witnessed a burning city, hearing the screams of soldiers trying to take down a mysterious threat. He can hear the wails and cries of the citizens living in the city, but they seem to be... unscathed as they ran away. No one was hurt, except for the soldiers that are being reduced to ashes by just being near something... or someone. He was confused as to why the evacuating citizens looked unscathed, but not damaged by the threat. It's as if someone was sparing their lives, but directing the destruction to the army that is attacking it.

Then he sees a figure towering over the city. The black hair was flowing like fire and water, her mouth was flaming with a magenta fire that could incinerate anyone to ashes in seconds. She breathes fire at the army, before she began to use collateral damage to destroy their heavy automations and armor. She is directing that unstable flame to destroy the city, but Paiko can see a twisted look on her face that both screams madness... and sympathy?

As the screams died out, Lara began to destroy the city with her bare hands. She keeps unleashing inferno on the land itself, until nothing is left. Paiko had to stop her, but she won't listen to anyone, not even to her own leaders and elders. He knows that she had a bit of that humanity within her. Maybe if she finds a reason to cease her destructive advance, then she can rebuild this place safely.

Or so he believed to be a good plan.

Paiko enters the burning city, looking for a building to stand on so he can get a good close-up on Lara Kai. If he can at least get to her height, then he can convince her to cease her attack. He can hear her roars, her screams of insanity as she keeps shooting fire and taking down the debris of buildings until everything has crumbled and become dust. He climbed on top of a fallen stable building that was not broken apart. As he sees Lara roar in rage, he took a breath to concentrate and try to get the right words to convince her otherwise.

Alas, fear and anxiety got to him, leading him to scream at the top of his lungs:

"LARA!"

She didn't listen, even if the echoes were loud and clear. Lara kept crushing everything as she kept coating the whole area in fire. Paiko was still desperate to get her attention, so he kept yelling.

"Please, Lara! That's enough! You got rid of the threat, now we can go home!"

Lara began to laugh, her flames still shooting out of her mouth. Paiko continued to persuade her no matter what. If he doesn't get her to stop, then something bad will happen to her. He doesn't know why she's destroying the city, but he has observed that the civilians - the citizens living in the city, were safe and untouched by her chaos.

"This land has suffered enough! You don't need to keep doing it!" Paiko continued, his desperation growing larger.

But he is but a tiny ant to the Final Drifter, who became the Dayosa. What exactly drives Lara to push herself to the limit of total annihilation? What can pacify her eternal wrath and vengeance? Is there anything that Paiko can do to convince her to stop?

He's in absolute horror of the events unfolding. Is this why many questioned Lara Kai so much? Is this why they question her morals?

2. Days.

It took 2-3 days to finish this piece.

Well since I already traumatized SchwarzerAlptraum's character "Kai" in the Godspawn Event, I got the permission to do Scatteriskity's OC "Paliskobengar/Paiko" next. I nearly drew his tail wrong when simplifying him in the chibi style, so I managed to tweak the vector layer and the base color before dealing with the anime background combining some brushes. 

I had fun drawing him so helpless... but I am still yet to understand perspectives in pieces like this. Only the 3D model in Clip Studio Paint was used for Lara Kai, because the scale of detail is harder.
