Chapter 1: Merfolk Dinner (LAGUNA EVENT)

The City of Lost Songs has always been this vibrant before the Portal collapsed. Rebuilding its way back to its former glory, many have been traveling here for an escape from the scorching heat of the sun. The undersea remains still and quiet...

... until she came.

Her sudden appearance makes her unnoticed in a crowd of merfolk and swimmers. However, her swimming methods scare away the fishes and other predators along her path, pursuing something. No one noticed her strange powers and humanoid forms, as if she was less of concern to the merfolk and the city itself.

A rift opens, and a trio of adventurers were flung out like mere cannonballs shot from the hulls of a ship. Paiko and Echo were wiggling for help, and Antal, in his merman form, grabbed both their limbs and helped them regain their balance underwater. The half-Drakon thanks Antal for his help, but then he gets his charismatic gig going.

With Echo's muffled mumbles, they explained about the "woman" they have been pursuing. In his experience, Antal had met that blue-haired man, who claimed to be a "god of water", but had learned how to use cantrip magic. Haku was also seeking this "woman", who says that she's his wife. Paiko felt awkward with him for a moment, but he still leads his companions in the search of the stranger.

~~~~~
After one long annoying search in the outskirts of the City of Lost Songs, the trio finds a lone woman with black hair, bandages, a corrupted cyan arm, and black shorts with a gold belt. Beside her is a red translucent shawl, which she wraps around her waist to lessen the burden of carrying it in the first place. Paiko senses that she's watching something going on, not minding that the three of them are here, specifically for her.
Lara, the "woman" Paiko and Echo were looking for, turns to them and snickers, gesturing at the situation.
"Can you believe this?" Lara snorts.
She is watching two merfolk argue each other. A brown-haired and bearded merman with a fine muscular build, and a green-skinned orange-haired mermaid. Both are bickering about something. However, Lara's sharp hearing senses gets her to eavesdrop on the petty topic that they've been discussing. It has to do something about... personal business.
And neither of them are getting along, for their methods are too different from one another. The merman tries to convince his stubborn sister that his methods can help her with whatever is going on, but the latter thinks that his alchemy would screw everything up.
Lara's gaze narrows sharply, standing up as Paiko backs away from her.
"I'll handle this," she says.
"A-Are you sure?" Paiko asks Lara.
"I've been in a similar case with... someone. This is no different from what I've experienced."
"But we can help, we-"
"That's alright, I'll deal with it myself."
She kindly sends off the trio to leave her alone... for some reason.
Paiko ponders on why Lara would send the three of them away and not engage like she used to. While Echo is still mumbling to Antal about the whole encounter with this "blue-haired man", the three hears panicking on the surface.
~~~~~

They find that the two merfolk, specifically Ronin and Laguna, are panicking for help as they are...

Are they... on an iron rod? On a VOLCANO?

Ronin looks at Lara with a confused and pleading look, while Laguna is freaking out at her new form.

"T-THIS WOMAN IS THE ONE YOU WORKED WITH?!" Laguna shouts at her brother Ronin.

"I-I trusted her to do the sensitive ones!" Ronin replies, hesitant.

"But she's HUGE! And she's gone crazy!"

"You better tell me what you're up to, or I'LL TURN YOU INTO DINNER TONIGHT!"

Lara was gleefully going to turn them into merfolk dinner if they do not explain everything to her. While Ronin attempts to persuade her to let them go and negotiate peacefully, she was clearly not in the mood to listen to him. As a result, Paiko, witnessing this, sighs once more. Echo was clearly shaking for help. The sheer sight feels like a mockery to all living things... at least for the poor plushie bunny.

"... Yep, that's Lara," Paiko gestures to her towering form.

Antal, however, was not surprised. In fact, he would like to test this woman's heart and soul... if he can survive her.

    Er-- Lara, I think we need to work on your concept of solving things over a diplomatic dinner. You invite the guests over to eat. Eat with them. Not eat them.

    I love how Paiko's used to it now hahaaa XD

      Man still believes she still has the perspective of a human, even if she has stopped caring about morals and norms.
