Full Body Reference: Creed

Full-body reference of Creedance Windrider

Couple inspirations and references:

  • Wings: Creed's wings are referenced off of a couple sources, the main being leukistic/piebald bats, albatrosses, frigatebirds, and pelagornis. Pelegornis was a major inpiration for her wing-to-body proportion. Her colorations were not referenced from any specific seabird, but though my exploration of research papers of the very same subject matter: seabird colorations and their direct impact on flight efficiency[1], and countershading.

  • Outfit/Hair: Both her hair and outfit are in direct reference to her frigatebird inspirations. The material, I based off of neoprene (wet suit material) and what I observed of racing suits.

  • Antlers: For Creed's antlers, I wanted something highly specialized and most importantly, aerodynamic. This search took me down the particular rabbit hole of pterodontids, but more specifically, Nyctosaurus gracilis. As the crest could grow to a length of up to 5.5 centimeters (1.80 feet) and was up to three times the size of the Nyctosaurus’ head, I decided to use this measurement for her own antlers. The males of her subspecies would likely have the exact proportions.

  • Prosthetic Leg: Her leg was based on several models, but my main inspiration was paralympic snowboarder Mike Schultz[2] and his self-made company Biodapt Inc. From there, I looked at a myriad of steampunk concept pieces and various cosplays.

She looks beautiful. Blame lag for why I've commented twice.
