Chapter 1: Let's Head out

The quiet rustling of leaves, the running of the lake's water as it had been rudely stirred by the creature they'd just escaped from, and the quiet sound of a comb going through hair could be heard.

"Would you look at that, your garbage truly is gone." Reius stated calmly, their eye glancing quickly around as it always did, taking note of every single detail, their camp was clean for sure.

"It.... Is... Not garbage." Protested Puck quietly between huffs, he was tired, while in normal day-to-day, floating around was as natural as just breathing or walking, there was much more overexertion when it came to carrying someone that was twice his size (and despite their nimble looks, they were not light in the slightest). Puck was tuckered out at this point, his mana was low and he was feeling it.

"You keep saying that, but I do not know what use something like random twigs or a single grape from two weeks ago could be saved up for." The lich stated while glancing at the other. Much to Puck's dismay, Reius kept criticizing his collection of Very Important Not Garbagey Items.

Puck huffed, a bit too tired to truly argue what he'd been repeating for a good while now, he shuffled a bit on the vine he was resting on, finding a more comfortable position.

From a distance, both of them could hear the growling of the massive monster, having taken heavy damage from Reius' earlier attack, it desperately tried to undo these vines and free itself. Neither of them seemed too worried about it, they were at a safe distance after all, thanks to Puck.

The lich felt silent for a moment as they continued combing their hair, it had gotten messy, even a bit too tangled for their liking, with all the movement as Puck carried them away, not as if they really minded. As they finished combing through the last bit of hair, which they promptly tied back to its usual style, they glanced at the other. As unpreoccupied as they were about the trash monster, they thougth that if it caught up to them, Puck would have to pull a miracle out of his hat to make it out unscathed.

The vine Reius was sitting down lowered and they stood firmly now on the grass. "Let's make it out of here, do you think you can walk?"

Puck slowly glanced up, could he walk? Maybe, but he looked tired as all hell, he needed no words for Reius to understand that much.

Reius paused, then quietly nodded, raising the vine that held Puck up to their level. they were not the most graceful when it came to assisting others in any way, very noticeable by how they chose to pick the other up, holding Puck under their arm as if he was a rugby ball. Since there seemed to be no opposition from the Fae, they proceeded to start walking away from the monster.

"I heard there is a Bazaar around, perhaps you can restock on garbage there." Reius pointed out.

"Not... Garbage..." Was Puck's quiet retort.
