ABOUT

Reius is a sorcerer, once a top student at Eklobeus' Magic Academy, they'd always been seen as a loner, someone that preferred to keep their distance, many attributed it to shyness, and others to asocial behavior, their relatively gloomy presence kept people away from them, and thus, not many got to properly know them.

Within the academy, they started a personal apprenticeship with one of the teachers, Alexander, which, while it started well, it quickly went downhill as they both looked more and more into dark magic, causing both Alexander and Reius to be expelled, soon after, they parted ways to seek their own goals.

Within this timeframe, Reius befriended a dragon by the name of Emmeline, who they betrayed a century later, taking her heart out and using it themself for power, this was the moment Reius became a Lich.

PERSONALITY

Reius upon first inspection seems difficult to approach, their intimidating looks and auta, plus towering height can put some people off, however, they don't give the impression of being a violent person, not at first glance at least.

In reality, they are an easy to talk to person, they hold a great deal of knowledge that most don't get to hear due to them avoiding Reius, they're charismatic and have a way with words, on a superficial level, they can even be considered as a very friendly individual, however, looking at the undertones of their words, their expression and finding trickery, it is clear that there is something else to their words.

They're closed off emotionally, never wanting to reveal how they feel, for they think it is not of importance. They process emotions alone and would rather keep it that way.  If one breaches past their emotional barriers, Reius can be read as someone very protective of themself, with difficulty in making real attachments that don't provide them a big benefit. There are hints of regret deep inside, alongside much unprocessed anger.

BACKSTORY

Reius Tauzin was an elf born at a large city behind the Earth's Veil, where fantastical beings, magic, and those humans have deemed myths and legends, exist. The only child of a well off couple, they grew up in an environment they can only describe as controlling, while their parents' intentions were not to harm, their ignorance and need to follow customs and traditions lead them to cause Reius more harm that they ever really noticed.

The Elf grew having to follow 'duties', as their parents caleld them, to be the best at everything they could, practice music on the daily, be modest, formal, never talking back, a child not truly allowed to feel much emotion, and no achievement being celebrated with them, it was all something they had to do, nothing worthy of praise.

Due to this, Reius grew into a relatively reserved person, not wanting to approach others as they were busy with their own work, their own studies, in fear of disappointing their parents, this willingness to do as told only started faltering near their adulthood, where they started developing slight defiance, finally enrolling in Eklobeus' Magic Academy, even against their parents' wishes, in the end, Reius simply wanted to prove their family that they could make decisions that'd lead them to success.

They were on the right path, as well, just like in the past, they had top grades and were known as a student proficient in their magic, able to harness multiple elements with ease, but having most proficiency in healing magic, alongside deep botanical knowledge and proficiency in alchemy. 

They were eventually noticed by Alexander, a teacher and Co-Founder of the academy, who took them in to expand their knowledge, throughout these mentorships however, Alexander slowly but surely addressed Reius' repressed traumas and feelings to manipulate them, to make them think similarly, by the time Reius was on their last year before receiving their Mastery title, their mentor had dragged them down into the path of Black Magic, a forbidden art that Reius now desired, delving into Necromancy, for the elf had a deep connection, and even worshipped Death. Both Alexander and Reius were discovered for their practices, and promptly expelled from the Academy.

Alexander's mentorship continued off school grounds, eventually orchestrating an attack with his pupil to the Academy, which was unsuccessful, after this event however, Reius parted ways, for they believed they'd have more growth on their own, rather than perfecting their skillset to appease their mentor's desires.

Around this time, Reius met a young dragon called Emmeline, young dragons were uncommon to see, much more one that was shunned by others like her, she was a sweet girl, gullible, and unwilling to harm anyone, even for self defense. Reius was aware that a dragon not only would be a powerful ally, but a powerful puppet as well, having planned to wait for her strength to grow before killing her and having her as an undead slave.

After a hundred or so years of friendship, their plans took a drastic turn as Emma showed them a tree meant to protect her, a tree that would guarantee she didn't die if it grew more. In this moment, Reius acted on impulse for the first time,  combining not only their Necromantic knowledge, but also their healing magic to rip her heart out and replace their heart with hers.

It was in this very moment, where they cheated the death they worshipped so much, that their magic, holding them alive, turned them into a Lich. They limped away from their 'friend's' house, gasping in pain as they struggled to stay on their feet, a condition that took some hours to stabilize.

Now, as an undead themself, Reius wanders around in search of power and recognition, a way to take over the Academy that expelled them and prove their worth.

NOTES & EXTRA

• Reius' blood becomes petals once it leaves their body.
  Their magic currently specializes in Necromancy, what they used to be proficient at is relatively out of practice. However it does not mean that they cannot use it.
  Their sword serves two purposes, not only are they skilled with it, but they also can use it for spellcasting as a focus.
  They are missing their right eye, The socket is growing a large flower, plucking it out hurts slightly, the flower will grow back.
  Reius walks in a 'limp' zombie-like manner, slightly hunched over and with slightly bent knees, leaning a bit to their right side, it is a wonder they can keep balance on their heels.
  Their voice is hoarse and soft, they are unable to raise their voice or yell.
  Their chest gets a pink-ish, faint glow when using more nature-related abilities, for those are born from the dragon heart they stole.
