Submisions: Wrong and right

Chapter 6: Wrong and right

Prompt #7 "History has featured a long list of people who do the wrong things for the right reasons, from unethical scientific research to dubious political decisions to… spiking the punch at a party to liven up the place. Draw or write about a time your character did the wrong thing for what they thought was a good reason."

----

"I was never a good person, and I've never pretended I was. That war changed me. Overall I'm sure I could have done things differently, tried something else. Done something better, maybe in the end I could have avoided all of this." -Aza

As he believes himself Aza is not a good person, he believed he was helping his friends while they believed him to be a cold hearted monster. Something unatural, something that could not feel. When his friends had a rightfull reason to believe someone had information when they didn't, they were not subtle about it. In the end the man they had questioned was clearly put off, afraid, and just wanted to leave.

While the others had opted to just let him go Aza was convinced that if he breathed, he would tell someone. That him and his friends would get into trouble, and without any hesitation he had grabbed an innocent man by the throat, and almost killed him.

If it weren't for Aza's friends being present maybe he would have ended that man, that wasn't going to stop him however. This was just another hunt, he didn't understand why his friends were so upset. Afterall he had told them why he did what he did and had continued to try and do, he could not understand why these people he had been travelling with were so willing to accept his sister Lyra into their group. And yet so unwilling to hear out his reasoning and accept that this was the only way they could know for certain that the man they had questioned would never speak again.

Lyra has done much worse he told himself, they might not see it now but one day they will. And when they see how messed up Lyra is in comparison they will understand that he is the lesser of two evils.

An evil who admits to being an evil is much better than an evil that lies, decieves, and pretends to be the epiphany of good afterall. They will learn, they will understand, soon.
