Goblin's Biology Notes: Ch. 5 Crystal Deer(?)

Specimen- Lance Kyanite

Species- Volaitaur

Location- Mountain tops of Lyra

 

Amoungs the crystal dusting of Lyra, there lives herds and communities of self proclaimed "Volaitaurs" or Volai Cervitaurs. People with the body of a Volai, and top half of a human. It seemed too good to be true so I had to investigate. The portal however is closed but I heard rumors of one taking residents in the guild.

 

I met with this subject in his room of the guild, that he converted into a Farrier and spa of sorts. Subject was polite and sat on an altered bench to fit his quadriple body while we talked over tea.

 

Subjects body was covered in blue and white fur with a long tail dawned in purple and pink strands of hair. Subjects hair color is a pastel blue, verging on white. 

 

Another key feature shared with the volai are crystal horns protruding from his head. His were purple and pink, though he explained that they come in many colors, shapes, and sizes. The horn don't contain nerves or other more common hallmarks of standard horns and antlers. When asked about maintenance, he showed off a small jar of polish. Seems care of the horns is easy, just continual polishing and sanding when it gets chipped or scratched. 

 

His feet were interesting. The specimen has hooves though they looked in shape similar to paws structuraly. They did have dewclaws on the back, but hard to see while covered in fluff. Subject put crystal "shoes" over his feet, he explained it was to keep dirt out of his room and the guild. The other reason is "the wall and padding of my hooves is a little more brittle due to a medical condition. I have to be extra careful with them." This may also explain the many carpets in this room.
