Chapter 3: Ch. 3 A Petit Pixie
Specimen- Mycelia
Idntification- Magpie ink cap/Amanita galactica Pixie cross
Location- Faedin
An odd sight for sure. A pixie not in a colany? Pixies by nature are social creatures, Its rather curious to see one so far away from the nearest one. And a terrestrial pixie at that, for this one doesn't have a pair of wings.
Specimen was aprihensive to tell of her anatomy but calmed down when a secondary party was present. Social and general anxiety are likely (and confirmed by the secondary presence). Specimen would consistantly "hide" under her cap, avoid eye contect, figited with hair, tapped leg, and bumped head against second party for assurance.
First was the question of the cap, was it connected? The specimen confirmed its attched by a ring of skin on her scalp, this however does give her motion. The cap can be moved around her head in a circular motion freely. It can best be described similarly to if a beanbag was attached by its middle point then moved around. The inside is similar to that of a standard mushroom cap, foamy textured 'flesh', gills on the underside, and a layer of outer skin. The cap heals quickly when damaged as explained by the specimen.
Her skin was another big topic during our breifing. The specimen showed off a key feature (with the aid of the secondary party) the skin has a bit of bioluminesent capability. If agitated or jostled The specimen with glow as a warning. This can also be achived if the specimen is flustered or embaressed.
Other odd notes on her skin include
- Breathing through it when needed or in emergancy situations.
- A natural musty or mossy smell.
- The tips of her limbs had an sooty look from element usage.
- Sweatglands produce a fine sparkly powder instead of moisture.
The last point was a topic of interest. According to the specimen, this is what's commonly referred to as pixie dust. All pixies get their dust this way, but for easier gathering and use, the creatures often have a magical tie to a bag or object. The object passively collects or uses dust over the course of the day. Specimen noted she and most fungal pixies are magic deficient, meaning they don't produce as much dust as floral or tree pixies. This specimen in particular produces an extremely low amount of dust and often has to save up dust for days to produce the same amount as a floral pixie.
