Chapter 3: THREE: 134 words
PROMPT 3: Draw or write about your character enjoying the party. Are they dancing? Eating something delicious from the massive buffet? Hosting an impromptu costume contest? Creeping around the back rooms to find something that explains the odd feeling everyone has?
Like a thief in the night, Caspian slid over the crowded ballroom floor to the side. The way his interests clashed annoyed him. He liked parties, and he liked to dress up - but attending alone made him feel like a wild animal in a well-lit cage.
The state of disrepair of his attire did no favors to dissipate that feeling. The eternal moved his hips a little, and watched the battered hem follow his movement. It was as loyal as it was dirty. Caspian let out a heavy sigh, and pushed further through the crowd, towards an invitingly empty wall.
Some things never changed, did they? Just because he had the luxury of having someone by his side for a fleeting moment, didn't mean anything could last.
Perhaps, it was all he deserved - nothing.
