lol, i agree about that. My friends use to tell me that SM was for little children, i was like...oh non...that's because you guys haven't read the manga. Theres so many picture of Usagi and Minako, Rei and Minako...i sure she's (mina) a lesbian. I have to say my favorite yuri stories are with Minako and Usagi.

And like you've said Zoecite and Malacite, Uranus and Neptune...and Mamoru (or should i say Darien) in the anime show, had a pink shirt...a pink shirt

    [/quote]

Pink shirts don't make a man gay.
Bad stereotype that should not be perpetuated in this day and age.

And the SM anime shown in the USA (from DIC), is a mangled, edited to high heaven peice of CRAP.

Get your hands on the NON-EDITED version that ADV released in 2003. It's just like the Manga, with none of the relationships altered to appease a generically conditioned as acceptible homophobic american popluation.

It's only in this country the subject is such a "taboo". Hell a woman's breast causes mass hysteria if exposed to breat feed an infant and in other countries across the world, it's just... a BOOB big deal.

We live in a sadly repressed society who can't handle Heterosexual sexuality let alone other forms of expression. I beg you don't perpetuate bad stereotypes.

It's just one form of love being expressed and nothing more.
Pink does not make you Gay
Not all Gay men lisp and act like Carson on Queer Eye
Not all lesbians are "Butch Dykes"
Not all Het men are bastards
Not all het women are babie makers
Not all bisexuals sleep around with just anyone (That I can attest to personally, thank you very much. Just because I don't care what GENDER someone is, does not mean I make meaningless relationships. I was in a hetero marriage for 8 years until I divorced my husband, and dated the same girl once for 3 years prior to that.)
    etc...

I'll get down off my hot button soap box now.

Sorry to sound cranky, but as victim of stereotypes it irks me a tad when good people perpetuate it because they are conditioned by society to think it's OKAY.

I know that pink doesn't make a man gay, it was more of a joke than anything. I'm deeply sorry if i offended anyone... I agree it is a cliché and a stereotype, but like i said it was only a joke, and like i've read in a book, one can do terrible things with the best of intentions. Sorry if i offended anyone. And btw, simply by living we are victims of stereotypes, we are by are looks, by what we wear, the way we do our hairs, everything, i had girls hating me because of my big breast and men thinking i was a porn start.  Some girl will hate or dislike this other girl , because she's more pretty or wear all the perfect cloths. Unfortunately stereotypes are very present in ur everyday lives. A lot of people judge other people only with what they see and refuse to go deeper...

But i cant help it, i hate pink. I hate this color with a vengeance, i truly hate it. The other day, i wash this pair of red pants who belong to my roommate and well...all the clothing i washed with these pants are now, pink! I guess i'll have to start liking it...

lol...i know ,i didn't want to say that guys who wear them are gay, it was more of a joke, i didn't want to offense, i swear!:) But i have to say, I hate pink, i hate this color with a passion bordering on madness...i hate it even more on men  It probably comes from my taste in men...

    Sorry if i offended anyone!

No prob, people do it ALL THE TIME in this country and don't think twice about it.

Just like they used to call African Americans the awful N word without blinking.

    My #1 hot button phrase.

    "that's so GAY!"

I want to smack people who say that.

In a sentence alone, Gay in the dictionary means Great mirth and Happiness....

    But people don't mean that..

    what do they mean?

That phrase makes absolutely NO SENSE in any language.

I watched little miss Paris Hilton look at a shirt she didn't like on TV and utter : "That's so GAY"

What that shirt has a same gender preference?

    see?

It's one of those little pet peeves of mine that drive me bonkers.
But then I'm in my mid-thirties and I have little patience any more left  I've been worn so thin.

Ehh... I kinda disagree. I don't like yaoi much, but maybe that's because I'm straight. But, there are alot of good ones, I'll say that much.

Fable- You do realise how laxed the English language has become right? What does Aweful mean to you? Horrible? Or to be awed at? Gay is a word that has alwyas changed with fashion,a nd was apparently used as a code back in the days when the person was fulled as mentally ill etc... and not identified as it is today. Also, I read on the net that another name for the penis is a gaymember (to promote happyness in a woman?). What Paris Hilton was using it for was an opposite meaning, like Aweful. Being in this case, that the legend of gay people is something different from the rest of society, and not 'the way', or in fashion or what. I hardly think she realises how harsh that word is due to all the bleach in her hair.

MOST people don't think about the words they use in everyday life, which is why I'm carefull in my writing to always chose words that mean exactly what I'm saying. I never swear in my stories- unless that type of character would. It's not natral for the ears to hear it cause its not good language. Even if it passes by everyone's ears now, it DOES damage the character.

    *gives a wise bow*

I've read quite a few yaoi stories but I can't remember any names. I have a favourite author who writes yaoi fanfics though. I love Flamika V's stories. They're so good I want to do a pic for each one I read. =)

I have to say I agree with Fablespinner.  The phrase 'that's so gay' drives me nuts.  I just want to yell out ' If that's gay you're an idoit!'
