Chapter 1: Talisman Description

This talisman is one that can be extremely helpful. It's a sword. Well, not just a sword- similar to a short katana, it's thin but with strong metal to not break. Adding on it can cut through almost anything and is a good defense. It has a dark gray hilt that's easy to grip, and all badges are added onto the blade. Xey got this item from xer father, who gifted it to him on xer eighteenth birthday. It means a lot to xem- his father was the only one to give him a birthday present on this day and stuck to xer side when everyone else seemed to split away from him after they didn't mature like everyone else. When they went off on their own, they decided to take it with them to keep a piece of xer father with them, and for self-defense.

"OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH OH MY GO-"
"Relax, Felix," teased xer father, looking down at his gushing child with an amused expression. "Why are you so excited?"
"Well, yaknow! It's a COOL sword!" Who WOULDN'T be excited?" asked Felix, looking up at xer father excitedly. "Can I hold it? Can I hold it?"
"It's yours now, so yes, you can." He laughed, putting the sword on the table. Felix stopped gushing over the present as he looked it over. It was beautiful. It had a dark gray, almost black hilt. Xer hand stretched over to grab it, and lift it slowly. The grip was good, easy to hold onto and flexible.

The blade itself was sharp. Probably could cut something with it- ooh- maybe bread? Yeah, bread cutting would be so much easier now! Xey pointed it at xer father teasingly. "Aha! Stand down, villain!"

"Felix." Nobody usually liked his childish attitude. Sure he was eighteen right now, but that didn't mean xey couldn't get excited!.. right?

"Right. Sorry." He lowered the blade with a slight frown before it popped back into a smile. "Thank's dad. This is what I've always wanted!"

A slightly teasing smile crossed over his dad's face. "I'm glad you're so excited, Felix. Your mom would love to see you right now."
"Yeah, I know!" They grinned. "When is she coming home from work?"
"Later than usual tonight." He sighed softly. It seemed like he was hiding something but Felix just sighed back.
"I haven't seen her in months, dad. I can't see her today..?"

"Sorry son, but no." He shook his head. "Now, go show your friends your gift. I'm sure they'd love to see it."
Felix nods, grabbing his cloak from the table and clipping it over his chest. He put the sword in it's sheathe and xey quickly headed out. His dad didn't know about their...situation, with his friends. They wouldn't get it anyway! Xer dad didn't understand how it felt to be ignored because they just didn't act like everyone else. Apparently xey got it from their mom, but he didn't personally see it.
They frowned as they headed out of the house, xer steps crushing dry leaves as they headed down a rather beat down path. Their eyes shut for a moment before opening and sprinting down the path. They dramatically cut leaves in xer way, feeling like one of those adventurers in a movie. Maybe it was time to leave. If nobody else wanted to embrace their actual personality, and wanted to shove them down, then why should they deal with it?
Xey smiled softly as they didn't turn with the path, continuing walking straight. They weren't full aware when the last time an elf had left the forest, but xey didn't mind if they were the first.
