Chapter 1: Hope that Kills
On the bad days when the head of the orphanage, Ms Cladie was feeling angry, she would lock Blaclie up in the celler. The celler was old and falling apart, a group of rats had settled there and Blaclie could sometimes feel them crawling over her. Blaclie had learn there's was no point in crying, no one was coming for her. On those bad days she would take out the emerald green earring she had carefully hidden on her. It was a bit big for her and she had no piercing for it yet "But" she sliently sweared to herself "One day I will, when I leave this place." On bad days like this she would just stare at the earring pretending that she wasn't in the celler and instead she lived in a big big house and had one big happy family with a mum, dad, and maybe a baby brother or sister and a cat...hm maybe three cats. But on the really really bad days when she had been sent to celler beaten black and blue she would think that maybe her family would come to get her and that they've been searching for her and they haven't abandoned her. "That's impossible", Ms Cladie had told her, and then she would tell the story of how Blaclie had ended up at the orphanage. She had been found in a little baskets with a name plate spelling out "Blaclie" in front of the dreary old buliding with the earring tightly held in her hand in the middle of winter. No one had been nearby and no matter what the workers and volunteers tried they couldn't get her to let go of the earring. That was probably the only reason she still had the earring, it was her only hope left. Now 10 years later as she stood in front of Fallen Manor where her birth father lived and stare at the happy family that had greeted her she realized that all her hopes from when she was younger was...better to not think on it too hard. She left the manor and it's happy family behind. She already a dad anyways, in fact she had two she didn't need another one anyways.
