Billy is very concerned that he might witness a murder today. Looks like Posi did some meddling that Lumei did not much care for (spoiler alert, little brother Olin is fine). Normally the idea of trying to detain and elderly women on charges of michief and general tomfoolery would not appeal to Lumei in the slightest, but when she watched the portal her brother stepped through corrupt and vanish before her very eyes, her priorities changed rather quickly.

Bill wanted to do some self-proving or something along those lines, which prompted the mission in the first place. Ideally, he was just going to arrest the Thath woman, be commended for his efforts, and be on with his day, but Lumei clearly has a more permanent method of dealing with her. Posi did not maliciously separate the she-wolf from her sibling and so was rather quick to cough him up to avoid confrontation and escape without a trace, much to Billy's dismay.
