Before we lost it all: Aster helps with the chores :3

"Aster, can you sweep the floor for me?" Novia said, handing him a broom. "I would do it myself, but I have plans today. I'll get you a treat when I'm back!"

Aster took it in his mouth and began sweeping, only pausing when Novia moved forwards to pet him.

"Good Aster!"

Aster beamed.

Hexi hopped onto Aster's broom and clung tightly as she spoke. "H-How are you, Aster?"

Aster beckoned her atop him as a way of saying that maybe a currently-moving broom was not the best place for someone whose species was genetically predisposed to neuroticism, and she obliged.

"Sweeping, huh?" Hexi was shaking atop Aster, her paws on his ears. "... Ah..."

Aster gently placed the broom down and stood still as Hexi readjusted her position so that her chin laid in-between his horns and paws spread out- no longer standing on him, but laying down. "It's alright if you just talk to me."

"Even if...?"

"Even with the broom in my mouth!"

"Yay!" Hexi squealed.

"Sometimes I forget who's older... me or you..." Aster picked up the broom and continued to sweep as his adoptive older sister spoke.

"Some say neutronidae can shapeshift... Aster, could you imagine if you could turn into a human? You could get this done earlier! And then maybe we could find new games to play with your brand new hands and brand new body!" Hexi chattered. "Wouldn't it be cool? I know I'd like it if I could turn into a human!"

Aster shook his head.

"No!? Why not? Of course, it would suck if I were stuck as always a human and couldn't use any of my magic anymore, but being able to turn human whenever I wanted would be nice!"

Aster kept sweeping. To be human whenever I wanted... to not have paws but hands, not have talons but feet, no wings and no tail... no, even if I kept those things, I'd much rather be like this!

"Well, I guess not having paws or a tail and only having fur on your head would be weird, at least at first- Oh, this room's done!"

"It was the last one." Aster smiled after setting the broom down. "Guess I'll put this broom up and then we can play."

"Oh!" Something struck Hexi (metaphorically). "I was coming here to ask for help with the mailbox! Can you help me open it? Novia wants me to sort her mail for her! Told me it's really easy!"

"So this is what she calls junk mail!" Hexi said, tossing a piece of mail onto a spot on the table. "And this is what she calls 'bills'!"

"This one's pink!" Aster said.

"Must be something special!" Hexi hopped, except she accidentally hopped off of the table and screamed.

"Hexi!" Aster dove in to grab her, but the bad luck curse already began taking effect, causing him to accidentally knock the pile of mail all over the floor.

Novia walked in. "I'm ba- Oh my... Don't worry, I'll handle it!"
