Some of the infected had changed...their faces were morphed, shifting unnaturally like smoke and taking on a skeletal appearance. It seems an old enemy of the Empire had found a new way to escape their impressionment...by taking over the bodies of those overwhelmed with despair. Now they ran after citizens, targeting the weakest among them, whether infected, children, or the elderly. They began to tear down the barrier separating the sick. The goal was to inspire as much terror as possible to allow more Umbrum to push into the minds of despairing ponies.

Anytime a pony interacts with a warped infected, they must make a WIS stat check. This is because the Umbrum can cast illusions that show a pony their worst fears. Any roll 3-5 will have a pony experience such an illusion. To free your character, you must (separate from this thread) write or draw a piece showing what your character experienced. They are then free to interact with the event as before.

Pas D'arms can't say he's exactly NOT terrified... but perhaps because he hasn't yet fully grasped WHAT the problem is with some of the infected. He hurls himself into the fray (As he's want to do...) trying to throw up a shield spell to push back the Warped and make space for those they're chasing to flee. 

(Paz rolls a 2 and somehow missess being haunted by the literal creatures of his childhood nightmares... for now.)

Frazzling Thingamajig examines the scene unfolding in fear. These ponies were...mutating? Was that the proper word? No matter what words used to describe this tragedy could explain the fear instilled in her.

She had to remain calm and think rationally. She eyed the infected that were affected, and then a thought crossed her mind: everyone's friends were still there, right? Would there still be a chance to see reason?

Despite how scared she was, Frazzle pushed herself into approaching the mutated infected and pleading them to stop. This may not be the...brightest idea she had, but it doesn't hurt to try, right?

WISDOM roll: 3; Frazzle is afflicted with an illusion!

While the warped infected were trying to break the barrier from the inside of the quarantine zone, Frostbite was running along it from the outside creating thick ice walls with his magic in those places where the barrier was about to break. Let’s see how they tear through that! Sure the ice will melt eventually, but that will take hours and by the time the uprising will hopefully be already over. Since Frost was still separated from the infected by the barrier, he thought they won’t be able to hurt him. Such a clever plan!

Seeing a foal getting terrorized by the warped, Brave Storm rushes into the fray. She attempts to bite the back of the umbrum's neck and throw them away from the foal.

Brave Storm rolls a 10 and chases off the nightmares. For now....

Velvet Wing swoops into the fray, using her speed in an attempt to bat away the warped from the fleeing civilians.

(Velvet rolls a 14 and avoids the nightmares!)

At first, Camellia had no idea how to react. Seemingly at random, infected ponies were becoming very spooky, and this wasn't something she had any experience handling. But then, they began screeching about despair, and acting frightening in a very deliberate way. It was hard to think about much beyond fleeing in such chaos, but it did seem like the really upset-looking ponies were more likely to turn all ghostly. If despair and terror were setting off this change, perhaps she could offer her fellow infected an alternative emotion.

"How dare they?" she said, as loudly and indignantly as her fear would allow. Turning toward the ponies next to her, she continued. "These creatures are probably the reason we're all sick! First they start us turning into crystal, and then they have the audacity, the absolute gall, to start wearing us around like onesies!?"

She looked around hopefully, to see if any of the others might join her in being offended.

Flashfloat almost opened his mouth as he struggled to believe what he was seeing. Infected ponies are morphing? What happened to them?

But it's not as important as the current situation.

Flash searched the nearby area for foals and elderly to protect. His eyes suddenly spotted a warped infected attempting to approach one of the elderly horse. He quickly picked up a nearby broken crystal shard and threw it at the warped infected, hoping to get their attention.

The warped infected bellows at Trail Blaze, her cry reverberating with the swirls of her distorted face. Trail Blaze is now trapped in a nightmare illusion! He body does cause the warped infected to veer off to go after a different pony, though, so the foal was protected in the end!
