The Valley

Named after this track that I was listening to and got struck with inspiration.

Galaxii is absolutely the type to keep pushing himself forward despite feeling ill. As a result the 'nursing back to health' trope is in play here.

Attempted a painterly-style background, partially because it was getting late and I sort of rushed it. But! I still think it turned out pretty good.

Galaxii had been trecking through the deep forest for half a week at this point. The knight had been sent in to gather materials- bark from a specific kind of tree for a specific potion- and so far, there hadn't been much luck at all. The trip was wearing on him. He could feel himself growing weary...

He didn't remember much from the last day and a half or so. Dehydrated, feverish, and somewhat delirious, he somehow managed to stumble his way into the territory of a local forest spirit. Taking pity on him, they nursed him back to health. He was in and out of consciousness, taking bits of food when offered.

Finally, he awoke, cracking open his eyes and glancing around the tent in the evening light. Beside the campfire sat a fae with antlers like tree branches, monarch wings, and a bowl of soup in hand. 'Where am I?' he asked under his breath, still somewhat groggy. His throat hurt from thirst.

'Oh! Good, you're awake. You've been sick for the past couple of days. It was lucky that I found you, you could've...' They trailed off, getting distracted by the hot bowl of soup in their hand. 'Here, drink this. It'll help you feel better. You're better than you were before, but you're still running a fever...'

The forest spirit happily patted his head as he took the bowl and sipped from it.
