Chapter 1: Discovery

"What's that?" Aeryn was the first to see the red and white spheres crash into the ground several miles away. The white-haired five year old Demon girl was surprisingly brave for her age; most Demonic children weren't nearly so brave as her until age ten. Her brother, a long-haired, seventeen year old Demon named Natsu, snapped his head up to see the dust from the landing, causing his sky-blue hair to swirl around his almost elfish face. "Dai dii! La nerezza viene!" he exclamed. "Brother?" Aeryn didn't like the way her brother had forseen the visitor. He didn't hear her, and angrily hissed, "I dii maledicono questo!" before picking his sister put and flying to the west. To the home of Fathia the Victorious...

Several minutes later...

Setting Aeryn down, Natsu urgently knocked on the door. A girl of sixteen years answered the door. Her long, silky red hair was tied in a ponytail with a yellow scrunchie. Her glassy blue eyes were dancing with excitement as she greeted her boyfriend with a large smile. "Natsu!" she said warmly, "Hi! What brings you and Aeryn out here today?" "Fathia, this is a serious 'ya owe me' situation. I need to get the rest of our team. And is Aeryn okay to stay here while we go check things out over at the Praries?" "I'm not staying behind!" Aeryn shouted angrily, "It's just a scouting mission! Not even throwing me in a gunny sack and locking me in a closet would keep me behind!" "Okay," Natsu said irritably, "You can come along, voi dolore grande nella parte posteriore. " "Hey! You're the pain in the butt, not me!"  "I'll call up the others."  Fathia went back into her house and called the other three members of the group.

A fifteen year old Demon with short black hair sat crosslegged and hovering a foot above the ground. Suddenly, her cellphone rang. "Hey, your phone is ringin'," it chorused repeatedly. "Oomf!" the girl grunted as she hit the floor, “Aw, now what? It better not be those stupid telemarketers again.” The caller ID read Fathia’s home phone number. "Amperora, deve essere importante!" she said. "Hello?" she answered. "Monique," Fathia said urgently, "can you call Dallas and tell him to meet us at my house? We need the entire team here." "Okay, I'll see what I can do." "Meet us in ten minutes." "Got it. Arrivederci." "Bye." Monique quickly dialed Dallas' number, praying that he wasn't riding his four-wheeler...

Sixteen year old Dallas, a yellow-haired punk with a bad atittude, had been channel-surfing when Monique called. "Yo," he said, pressing the "mute" button on the remote. "Dallas," Monique's smooth, slightly French-accented voice said, "call Jadon and tell him he needs to get his bitch of a girlfriend off of him and come to Fathia's house." "Ouch." "Just do it." "Gotcha. See you there in...?" "Ten." "Got it." As he dialed Jadon's number, Dallas figured he'd better refrase what Monique had said. Unless he wanted to pay thousands to get his four-wheeler fixed...

"Jeanna, wait. The phone's ringing. Get off." Jadon, who'd been in the middle of a long, romantic tongue-kiss with his girlfriend when the phone in the kitchen rang. "MOM?!" "Yah, uhm, Jadon? I'll catch ya later. See ya." Dallas laughed evilly as Jadon's exclamation came through the reciever. "Thanks, Maria," he said as he took the phone from his sister. "You owe me one, Dallas." "That was the cruelest, most dispicable..." "Yah, yah, shut it. Just meet us at Fathia's place in ten minutes, okay?" "Fuck you." "Okay." "Fuck you." "G'bye." "I hate you." The purple-haired Demon boy slammed the cordless phone on the black counter top. "Note to self," he said through gritted teeth, "Kill Dallas next chance you get."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Five minutes later, the entire team (plus Aeryn and Fathia's Snowshoe kitten, Belle) had gathered in Fathia's front yard. Jadon and Dallas were riding their four-wheelers, Fathia was one her stallion, Night, and Monique and Natsu would be flying. They'd bribed Aeryn into staying behind and playing with Belle until they returned, so she didn't complain when they left without her. Little did they know that someone else would also be investigating the crash...
Two Half-Demon girls rode on the back of their Griffon companion, Alexis, as she flew towards the house-sized crater in the Praries. "Yo, Caroline!" the pink-haired girl yelled over the rushing wind. "Yo, what?" the burnette yelled back. "What if it turns into a fight?" Caroline didn't answer at first. Then she looked over her shoulder, grinned, and said, "Then we'll fight, I guess. Got a problem with that, Friday?" "Me, having a problem with fighting? Déme una rotura. I love fighting." "Okay, then. Problem solved."
Will Caroline and Friday have to duel with Natsu and his team? And who are these strange new visitors? Find out in Demonic Ascendant Chapter Two: Fullblood, Meet Halfblood!
