I would have stayed by your side
If it had been any other lie
I would have denied
If it had been any other person
I would not have been cursing
If it had been any other moment
I would have said, "It will be okay, won't it?"
If it had been any other tear
I would have remained endeared
If it had been any other life
I would have been alive

But it was this time
So I can't stay by your side
But it was this lie
So I will not deny
But it was this person
So I am cursing
But it was this moment
So it won't be okay, I know it
But it was this tear
So I don't want to stay endeared

But it was my life
So I now am not alive

This is but a remembrance of the pain you brought
This is but a memoir of the love you taught
This is but my life wrapped into a poem by one who has been distraught...
