Jack's Quest: Falling Toward Destiny

To step forward is one thing, but to step forward with no ground below you is another. Of course though Jack didn't realize that after he'd vanquished the slime that the ground in front of him had disappeared. You see, his focus on victory had distracted him, so he didn't even notice that his talisman had activated some sort of object, creating an opening into another world. So as he stepped forth, without even knowing it, he'd fallen straight down. Immediately without warning he was in the middle of the sky, falling through a cloud. He is caught off guard, and drops his cane (which importantly transformed into his sword). He flails his arms around helplessly for a second, screaming as he’s flung downard.

But after a moment more of falling he’s able to regain his composure. He realizes he was so far up in the air he couldn’t see the ground below, so it’d take awhile before he hit the ground. Then he spots it, a massive golden airship below him. Of course it was a little tricky to tell what it was as it was so far down. Of course even if he could move over and land on it, he’d become an orange splatter as soon as he hit it. He has an idea though, something he’d never tried before but had thought about. He reaches forward, a burst of flame flying from his hand and shooting him backward, he smiles realizing that this situation he’d found himself in wasn’t so tricky after all.

 He tilts his body so his head is facing down, before flame flies out from his feet and jets him even faster downward. He managed to catch up with his cane, before spinning himself so his feet were facing the ground this time. He jets himself upward with his flames. “Is…is this what flying is like?” He ponders to himself, releasing bursts of flames in every direction, now just tossing himself up and down for fun. He spins himself back so his head faces down, and then launches himself downward. He begins gaining speed rapidly, but just before he lands on that massive golden airship, he spins himself around again and a few bursts of flame jet out from his feet, launching himself up a little and dropping his speed to almost nothing. He lands on the ground gracefully, and looks in front of him to see a conveniently placed sign that reads…
