I recently babysat my neice and nephew and I got them interested in video games. I brought out the SNES figuring it was the least likely to break and probably was the simplest for them to play. Cassie is 5 and her brother Matthew is 3. I also have a regular Nintendo. I was thinking of making a trip down to Gamestop and buying some used games. Can you guys think of any simple games that might interest them and is easy enough for them to play? Here's what I've got so far:

    Super Mario Allstars
    Super Mario World
Sailor Moon S game Japanese. (It's the one where you just walk around punching stuff.) They seemed to like this one the most.

    Any thoughts? :ponders:

OH yeah Mega Man X. I have that one. That might be a good one for them. Oh I just thought of another game. That ninja game on my Turbo Grafx 16. I think the game that comes with it Kieth Curage might be a good one also.
Do you think Super Metroid is too hard or scary? When I was around 8, I was too afraid to play that game.

I think Yoshi's island is too hard because of all the aiming with the eggs. That will be to hard for them. I have it though. When they are older they can try it.

Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Country, Aladdin, The Lion King, and Ms. Packman are some of the ones I have that you haven't mentioned yet. I havent played them in awhile but I remember them all being fun and not terribly difficult (except at the end of Lion King where to this day I still haven't been able to beat Scar... :annoyed: ) I'm thinking out of those though Lion King and Ms. Packman would probably be the easiest and fun for them. :)

Lion King and Aladdin are probably good ones. I have Aladdin but not Lion King. I played it at a friend's house once though. Ms. Packman would probably be a good one too. I'll see if my local Game Stop caries any of these used games.

I agree that the Donkey Kong games would be good. Similar to Mario World in that you stomp things and ride animals. Plus it has the tag team feature for 2 players.
