Hi!

I have come acrossed this issue too much so I wanted to see what's the best resolution size to upload here at Paperdemon? When I do a full-vew, the image becomes to large to view so I rather know a good resolution size than having to go back and forth on trying to guess. ^^;

The screen displays at 72dpi no matter what resolution you have the image.  That means if you have a 300dpi image with a 1"x1" print size, it will display on the Web at 72dpi and at a little over 4"x4".  Most graphics software should have an option like "view actual size" or "view full size" that will display the image at the screen resolution (not the print size) that will show you what it will look like on the Web.

I would suggest uploading images that are no larger than 800 pixels by 800 pixels. Standard screen resolutions these days are 1024x768.

Yeah- it's a pet peeve of mine when people upload at 300dpi and don't shrink it >.< I don't like not seeing everything on my MASSIVE as monitor >.<

I'd like to mention that Images at 300 DPI are much easier to steal and re-use.

Well, don't they upload as 72dpi anyways?

Even as 72dpi, my files were still appearing too big for the "full view" option. When I work with my pieces, I usually work in 150dpi and shrink them when necessary (although, Deviantart has made me lazy as they have options to automaticaly resize your image). I was just having issues figuring out what size to shrink my files down enough for this site.

Is it a flat image? And JPEG? If it's a multilayer PNG, it may be the size of the FILE that is the issue, not the size of the image. 

I will have to keep that in mind. I use PNG but never really flaten the file itself before saving it. Thanks for the info!
