biography: 

Born into a matriarchy, Vesper was an unwanted child. He lived in the shadows for a long time, until his late teens. Girls were preferred and he knew he would get nothing but scraps if he were to stay. Sneaking around was a risk he had to take, but being grudgingly taught potion making, the gorgon took to researching transformation potions secretly at night. It took a year and half, but he was able to find one in an area resticted to males. After that was secured, it took longer than he thought to find the ingredients without alert those around him. When he was 17, he managed to brew one that work properly after many failed attempts. Taking the chance, he slipped out of the city, almost getting caught a few times. The world outside was much bigger than he realized, finding that he needed to avoid reflective surfaces, large crowds, and more. He would spend many years stealing ingredients from potion shops to make the transformation potion so he could blend in. It wasn't until he, then a young adult, was caught by a shopkeeper. After proving his skills in potion brewing, he was then given a job to make up for the stolen things. As long as Vesper didn't steal anymore, kept himself out of trouble, and made himself useful to the shop keeper, he could work there. 

          It took a few years, but he managed to earn the respect of the shopkeeper. So much so, he was taken under his wing and taught the business secrets.

         Currently, he owns the place, since the old owner retired and gave it to him.
