Brief biography:

Flare does not remember much of her life before joining Sonnet on their journey. He woke up one day, all alone, in a destroyed observatory of the grand sky, sitting at the very bottom, where the rain that fell through the shattered roof led to a murky, almost purple pond that reflected the night sky. After minutes of staring up, he blinked, and some sort of trance was broken- she looked to the world around her, unfamiliar and strange, and slowly dragged himself out of that place, though some aspect of that strange water had imprinted itself forever onto him. He wandered out of that observatory with a strange pang in his chest and into the forest, with nothing man-made in sight. He wandered for days until he fell ill from exhaustion, waking up much later staring into a campfire, looking up to see the impassive Sonnet looking down upon him, gesturing him to eat the cooked flesh of some strange salamander. She would spend the next few days in recovery, learning to communicate with the ever-silent Sonnet, and, eventually, following them on their journey. Although quiet, Flare- as she named himself- is perfectly capable of speech, though often his voice is rough and quiet from disuse. She's sweet and incredibly curious, kind to all the two travelers meet, functioning as their primary communicator.

When she looks up into the sky, she is reminded from the place he came from, the place, somehow, he knows he could always find his way back to-
