A student who graduated from high school and College to be able to get their dream job.

For the portal stories, I may make it that they wanted to explore space and other worlds, so they learned portal travel and now go from place to place writing books on their discoveries n stuff.

Otherwise, I may just make them a regular adventurer character, maybe becoming a zoo/biologist who seeks to explore the world and make discoveries somewhere closer to home.
