Brief biography: Cursed before birth, Bard was born after his mother had been transformed into a vampire spawn by Barovian warlord Strahd Von Zarovich. Abandoned in the forest to suffer alone, Bards undying nature forced him to survive for days and days of crying. Finally a tribe of Shadar Kai, usually hateful of vampires, took pity on the infant and adopted him.

Raised without love, Bard nevertheless grew into an upbeat young man with a knack for martial combat. Unafraid of death after a lifetime surrounded by it and raised to fear and loathe vampires, Bard struggles with his own identity and place in the world.

One day, a mysterious adventurer destroyed Strahd for good and Barovia was freed from its cage in the Shadowfell. With the fear of his sire lifted and the world to explore, Bard braved the lifting mists of Barovia and set out into Faerün to seek his fortune.
