Brief biography: Kiara was a distant child-- she was kind enough, smart enough, and loved enough, but she grew up the eldest daughter of a poor family; that is to say, without regard to herself. When she was younger, a respected teacher complimented her problem-solving skills and told her she would make an excellent investigator (a type of career path in her world, where no government-ordained law enforcement exists). She immediately enrolled herself in a trade program for future investigators and grew to be one of the most outstanding workers in her field.

Unfortunately, righteousness does not always mix well with ladder-climbing. While on her way to becoming a top-class investigator, she was opened to the world of bribery and deceit. When she openly reported a scandal pertaining to an executive-level government official, she was forced to go into hiding in a remote mountain town to protect her own life and the lives of her family.
