Finn's Elemensha Quest Pt3: Flying

Finn is more adapt with the magic of air and sky, as these two similiar elements suit their personality more than the element of water.

Finn's POV:

I could float! I was good at this sky magic, and I could float myself and make Elia hover a few feet off the ground at the same time! It was easy. I just set up one spell of sky to create a cloud-like thing I would not fall through and could sit on, and I set up another spell of sky to support Elia in the air.

I must admit Elia was brave to allow me to do this.

There were safeguards that made it a little easier for her to be brave and trust the other three of us to hold her in the air.

I had been practicing, and Reuben was there to catch either one of us if I lost control of the magic, and Samiyael… Samiyael joked, but if we truly were in danger, they would catch us with sky magic too.

Even still, I was still practicing, and I needed to make sure the spells would not drop us. Air and sky want to be expansive and free. They are not like water magic, content to hold a shape forever, or earth magic, still and sturdy. Air and sky magic moves, and one must constantly keep some attention on it or it will disperse out from under you, your cloud will far apart, and you will be dumped on the ground.

Air magic was good for me, actually, because my brain could focus on holding the spells in the back of my mind, a mindless task, like something to do with my hands while I focused on the world around me….
