Bonsai ("Bonni") is a 15-year-old monk from a tribe of orphans picked up by his generous master. He doesn't quite understand how strong he is and tends to think everything that is asked of him is a riddle. He is a night owl and prefers to sleep during the daytime. His celestial blood is something he is not aware of possessing, and so far, its only manifestation is seen in his super-human strength and white irises. 

When his brother, Claire, died, Bonni's master seeded the ground in which he lay with reed. Bonni's preferred martial weapon, a 15-foot-long reed pole, is one of the stalks grown from his brother's grave.
