Strange Changes

Kya felt... strange when she got up from where she had curled up the night before. Her limbs felt odd, and some seemed to be missing. Not to mention she was suddenly freezing, even though it was daylight.

She glanced up at the statue warily, then started as she realized there was a nose instead of a beak in her field of view! She staggered to her feet and staggered away from the statue, uncordinated on two legs. She put out a hand to balance herself as she wobbled around, trying to figure out what had happened.

She had gone to sleep as her normal self, and woken up as... human?

It was hard to fathom. She had never really seen a human, either, only from far away as she hid from their view. To suddenly wake up as one... well, it was unexpected to say the least.

As if to add insult to injury, Kya stripped over a rock. Small stones bit into the palms of her hands as she fell again, and Kya resolved to go find some gloves. Human skin was terribly thin.
