Chapter 1: Chapter 1

Character Name: Esmeradin

Character Age: Unknown at this time.

Character Species: Dragon (Crystalline subspecies)

Hair/Scale color: White, if in human or elf shift. Opalescent in dragon shift.

Eye color: Sapphire blue.

Description: A five foot nine inch tall female stands before you, with a pleasant smile curling at her soft cherry petal colored lips, displaying soft dimples in her cheeks at the corners of her mouth. She looks human, hour glass figured, a little small in the chest, but she was leggy for one her height. Long powerful looking thighs, drumstick shaped calves, she probably could run a while before becoming winded with the muscles that flexed beneath that smooth, alabaster skin. Something does seem off about her, however. Whether it was the faint shimmer of a rainbow, like moth scales, along the surface of her skin hit by direct lighting, or the cunning glint in those bright sapphire blue eyes, or maybe it was the small points at the tops of her ears. Her hair bound back in twists of leather, and cording, seems to shimmer with iridescence but held no true color at all beyond a soft, snowy white. At the base of her throat, a dollar coin sized scar rests, thickened skin paler than the rest of her, rippling and moving with her very breath. Whatever cause it, must have been from a long time ago as it seems old, well healed, and unnoticed by the female herself. The air behind her, at her hips, ripples briefly. Motion slithering in the air with snake like swiftness, but the definition, clarity of what was caught a glimpse of was brief, oh so brief. Was that a tail? It looked to be, so briefly, but it's gone now. It wasn't pointed however, it held a small ball of shining clear crystal on the tip. She seems to be comfortably dressed for travel, a simple tunic and basic drawstring pants that appear to be worn and tattered at the hems, but they don't seem to quite fit her properly. Too loose in the waist and tied to the end of it's waist cord, and the shirt keeps sliding from one of her shoulders. "Pardon, you wouldn't happen to know the way to the nearest library, would you? Could you offer some direction for a lost stranger?" Her voice, soft, a soothing alto, with a near musical quality in her cadence of speech. Where ever she happened to come from, singing seemed to be something of a talent for her, perhaps one raw and untrained.

Brief Bio: Originating from a nexus world named Pellea, Esme was something of an outlier during the dragon wars. A student of the fine arts of arcanic study, and later on sorcery, she had been able to evade most of the troops moving on the surface grounds by staying hidden within extensive cavern systems in Pellea's major continental space. Her particular interests left her on her own most of the time, delving in remains of libraries of various different races, and cultures through Pellea's population as the wars continued for at least a couple centuries and decimated the more peaceful cultures, including her own kind. Crystals are unique in the fact that they are smaller, more swift than the older dragon species, and tend to be more intelligent and focused on trying to preserve historical documents, lore, and artifacts they find along the way. But for her, she was the last surviving crystal, her home world had been completely ransacked and overrun by the Reds and Iron dragons, leaving her constantly on the run when traces were found of her trails.

She didn't quite escape unscathed, the scar on her throat she wears with something akin to pride, knowing she had survived, in spite of the efforts made to kill off her kind. The reason the other dragons were trying to slaughter her kind being that she and her kind were the guardians of humans and elf kind at least on that world.

This world opens a new door for her to explore, to learn, and expand further on her history. The dragon hunters no longer a threat, and the Reds and Irons no longer something to be afraid of or to hide from. Her kind were valued, perhaps even prized for their unique scale coloration, almost gemtone in quality, and their knowledge hoards were often sought after by wizards and mages alike. For now, she'll take her time getting to know the lay of the land, and perhaps charm a few friendly souls to impart more details about this world and it's population.
