The Wraith’s Lament Chapter 4 - Brother And Sister Defend

Senso had now gained some back up, his sister Riley had found out that Senso and Anubis were setting out to track down rhakos in the haunted woods and although she is the younger one, the full blooded hellhound insisted that he would take her most strongest and loyal of Stryx, Nemesis. It was a good thing Senso agreed because the group would have not made out without the help of the royal Gryph, Nemesis. However before the group had a chance to even properly recover, disaster had broken out at the docks and it was now time to make a stand.

    Senso glanced over to his younger sister staying back from the havoc that was around them for the time being, “As much as I rather you not here, I think for the time being you are better off staying close to us. Well...I think it is best for all of us rather.” Senso spoke low to his sister, he appeared to have some band aids, his Black t-shirt and Black cargo like pants were dirty and torn from before, luckily his hair is short and it was not a mess, dirty but not messy. Anubis had a few cuts as well but overall was mainly dirty, yet his nokt was glowing bright Blue. Riley who is around twenty years old standing about five feet three inches looked to her older brother who stood around five feet ten inches and then back to the disaster that was going on around them, and listened thinking as Senso spoke, giving a nod in agreement, “Nemesis and I can create some distractions while you and Anubis help defend. That way we are still close but still doing something as well.” Riley added and moved her left hand to pat under Nemesis’s chin, the royal Gryph was just as close to Riley as Anubis is to Senso and it showed when Nemesis leaned down into the touch. Nemesis had her own minor cuts from aiding Senso but overall was ready for action. Riley had stayed back before, but this time she too was ready. Riley wore a simple dark Purple t-shirt and matching Purple pants that allowed her to move freely yet have coverage over her frame. 

    Senso gave a nod and moved over to Anubis and took out a wooden spear with a solid sharp stone tip from his side holster and gave it to his sister. Riley took the spear and climbed up onto her royal Indigo Gryph Nemesis, giving a tug on the harness for Nemesis to take off. There was no more time to waste and with that thought in mind, Nemesis bolted down towards the docks, a humming like sound started to build up within Nemesis and small light Blue sparks of plasma started to flicker out from her mouth as if she was gathering energy. The humming grew louder and louder, causing some corrupted wisps to take notice and start to come rushing from all sides towards the two. Senso’s multi colored eyes went wide with not just fear and worry for his sister but in a amazement as well to see how well his younger sister is able to face this with with boldness. Just as Nemesis and Riley set out for their distraction, Senso jumped onto Anubis holding his own spear and yanked on the harness for Anubis to bolt after them like a dark cloud of darkness. As Senso and the silken Harpia Anubis chased closely behind Riley and Nemesis the royal Gryph would unleash a stream of electric like Blue plasma down upon the rushing group of corrupted Wisps , taking them out in a wave of plasma like it was nothing. However that did not mean they were clear as there is a bunch rushing towards them even more so now, but big brother was close behind and as Nemesis unleashed her furry upon those who dared got in her way, Anubis would appear to take in a deep breath as his Nokt markings gave off a Blue glow and unleashed a Blackish Blue cloud around them. The poison from the shadow breath crept into the corrupted Wisps yet did nothing to Nemesis and Riley. Within seconds as the Blackish Blue cloud covered all four of them, the rush of corrupted Wisps started to drop from the skies down to the ground below like rain fall.

    For a moment it looked like the four were an unstoppable force, but the ever growing storm was working against them, the strong winds blew the shadow cloud away from them, and the corrupted Wisps did not seem to have an end to them. There was something a lot more worse, a Rahoks was down below destroying everything in its way, “Riley cover me!” Senso shouted for Riley and Nemesis to hear and tugged on Anubis to do a hard quick dive down towards the rahok with the massive horns, causing Mayhem down below. Nemesis and Riley bolted down after Senso only Riley had tugged on Nemesis to shift to the side and once again unleashed her plasma breath, only changing it from a stream form to multiple medium sized orbs. The plasma orbs zipped past Senso and Anubis taking out a few corrupted Wisps that would be rushing towards them in an attempt to stop them, keeping a clear path for Anubis and Senso to dart in and out of the way of other corrupted Wisps heading full force towards the Rahok that was creating such mayhem. However the rahok’s sharp senses picked up on danger and without so much as a thought changed its course of action onto Senso and Anubis, running with equal speed and it also looked like equal force due to the ground beneath its feet cracking and dirt and stone being kicked up. Senso gripped onto Anubis tightly as he lowered himself closer to the large Harpia getting himself ready for impact. What was not expected was the mass amounts of  corrupted wisps that followed from behind the mayhem causing Rahok, like an army of some sorts rushing past to meet Anubis and Senso head on in an attempt to aid the Rahok’s counterattack. However not to far behind Senso and Anubis was little sister Riley and Nemesis bolting quickly behind, evading and knocking out some stray corrupted wisps along the way, even Riley was managing to strike down with her spear a few of her own wisps. Riley held onto Nemesis tightly as Senso did to Anubis and stayed low, the Green tint in her eyes locked onto her brother and Anubis, “I’m not going to let them get hurt.” Riley whispered mainly to herself, but it appeared Nemesis either heard, or sensed her rider being in distress, the fact that Riley was even fighting spoke volumes of just how close the brother and sister are. With that in mind the royal Gryph Nemesis started to spin herself around while still flying downwards towards Senso and Anubis, almost like a tornado in itself was forming, but it seemed like Nemesis was just trying to gain the speed needed to catch up to Anubis and Senso, with only seconds to spare Nemesis was right beside Anubis now dashing down at the same speeds. Both Senso and Riley kept low to their stryx as Nemesis and Anubis crashed into the wave of corrupted wisps, cutting through them like a hot blade on butter, of course plenty of the corrupted wisps managed to leave their marks on Anubis, Senso, Nemesis and Riley, but that did not stop them and it looked like the Rahok knew this too for it did not slow its onslaught either. For a moment it felt as if everything went in slow motion as the group crashed into one another. Anubis and Nemesis came crashing forcefully down onto the rahok who leapt forcefully into the duo. Anubis would attempt to dig his claws into the rather large Rahok with massive horns and frilled like body while Nemesis used her large Gryph beak to snap down on the Rahok’s horn in an attempt to bring down the large frilled Rahok who was snapping and clawing at both Anubis and Nemesis and they spiraled down harshly towards the ground beblow. Senso held onto Anubis tightly and jabbed out his spear every so often to avoid razor sharp teeth from the Rahok and take out the random corrupted wisps they got in the way. Riley kept herself low to Nemesis and tried her best to steady her and embrace herself for the crashing into the ground. 

Struggling to gain the upper hand the group finally came crashing down with a loud echoing crash. Dirt, water, debris were kicked and tossed around from the impact. A cloud of dirt surrounded the area for a few moments before the raging storm’s winds blew it clear, showing a large crater in the ground. For a few moments Anubis, Nemesis and the Rahok were out cold, but both Senso and Riley were awake, but a bit dazed and confused. Purple blood trickled down from Senso’s forehead, arms and legs from a few cuts. Riley appeared to have some of her own knicks and cuts, unlike her brother, Green blood was trickling down from her wounds. The scent of the blood must have woken up the Rahok a lot faster than Nemesis and Anubis due to the fact they were not fully recovered from the haunted woods escapade for its blood Red eyes opened silently and almost grinned at the thought that there is two free meals and two Stryx to add to the wraith or so it thought so. The Rahok slowly got up to its feet and shook some dirt off, a few minor cuts and bite marks but nothing too drastic it seemed as if these Rahok were a lot more stronger than most and larger. Blinking to himself to regain his surroundings, Senso would struggle to undo the harness that got tangled up as the Rahok moved closer towards Riley and Nemesis. Riley struggled as well being caught in the harness and between Nemesis’s large head, pinning her half down. Senso watched in panic and tugged and bit down on the leather harness trying in vain to get himself free. The spears were knocked out of their hands during the fall and nowhere to be seen either, “Hey! Get away from her!” Senso shouted and grabbed what little bit of dirt he was able to and threw it aimlessly at the Rahok that now stood over Riley with a sadistic like grin. The corrupted wisps flew around but left the group alone to cause mayhem over the docks. The storm raged on and now down poured rain from the dark clouds above. The Rahok slowly looked over to Senso as he called out and ever so slowly lifted its foot above Riley’s head, “If she dies, you’ll die slower!” Senso shouted as tears ran down his face in frustration. Riley on the other hand wiggled and tugged as best as she could on the harness and tried to shove Nemesis’ head trying to wake her, “Nemesis, please!” Riley shouted to Nemesis. Senso’s multi-colored eyes narrowed sharply as the Rahok made an attempt to stomp on Riley, but it was not able to move. The ground cracked some more, dirt flung off to the side, Senso’s gaze did not break once, Purple blood trickled down his nose as he used the little bit of telekinesis he has been holding back. The last time Senso used this it was against the very first Rahok and has been slowly recovering the whole time. It was not perfect, but it was enough for the time being. Nemesis must have heard faintly Riley’s call for the royal’s Gryph’s eyes opened in an angry addrillin rush and swung her massive yet powerful head side ways to smack her rack hard into the Rahok and sent the beast flying off harshly to the side into a bolder. It was not going to keep the mayhem causing Rahok down for the count, but it was enough for Nemesis to gain her footing and freed Riley. Senso’s eyes rolled back and went limp from the strain, while Anubis started to slowly regain consciousness, but when Nemesis stood, Riley struggled to her feet and ran towards Anubis and Senso, tears running down her face from worry and came to a skidding stop and started to tug and bite down on the harness to help free Senso. While Riley was busy helping Senso, Nemesis stood her ground as the Rahok got up and shook some rock and dirt off, dark almost Blackish Red blood trickled from its head, but it appeared to have grown only more angry. Nemesis adjusted herself to stand protectively in front of Anubis who was struggling to get up and untangle himself from the harness with Riley’s help, the humming that was heard before started to grow louder and louder as Blue sparks flickered from Nemesis’ mouth. The Rahok stood its ground as well, digging its massive claws into the mud getting ready, with a flick of its frilled tail the Rahok dashed quickly towards Nemesis who stood before Riley, Senso and Anubis with its mouth wide open and claws extended sharply. The speed of this beast was noticeable but Nemesis was no push over and as soon as the Rahok came close enough, Nemesis did not unleash her plasma breath, but shifted to the side and swung her head to lock horns with the charing Rahok both of them skidding against the mud backwards from the force, but the mighty royal Gryph dug her claws into the mud to stop them from skidding back any further. This closeness created the perfect spot that Nemesis was hoping for, now being close Nemesis would unleash a stream of Blue plasma into the Rahok’s chest area, sending it flying back and through a few boulders until a rather large pile of rubble came crashing down on the Rahok. A trail of blood was left behind from the direct hit, and it looked like Nemesis was starting to come down from her rush of energy and that last attack took a bit more out of the royal Gryph than expected. It seemed like the Rahok was not finished either for the pile of rocks started to shake before they pushed away forcefully and out jumped out the blood dripping beast. Luckily Riley was able to free Anubis who quickly got up to his feet and stood beside Nemesis. Although he was not fully recovered, it was his turn to defend even if it was just for a little. The Rahok did not even blink before it dashed at blinding speeds towards both Nemesis and Anubis. Riley stayed behind and kept her knocked out cold brother close to her, gently trying to wake him up, “Come Sen, wake up.” Riley begged softly to Senso, burying her face against his chest. Anubis and Nemesis flung out their wings as the Rahok came rushing at them and dashed towards the beast to meet it dead in the middle. The Rahok is outnumbered but not out matched for the odds were in its favour due to the fact Nemesis and Anubis were running low on strength and energy way before they even began this battle and when it was met head on with Nemesis and Anubis the Rahok showed just how strong and angry it really is by swiftly and forcefully knocked back both Nemesis and Anubis back with its massive horns and sharp claws and frilled tail all working together to send the duo flying onto their backs, skidding back and stopping right by Riley and Senso who was ever so slowly regain him by now. Riley looked over to Anubis and Nemesis and then to her brother and helped him stand, “What do we do?” Riley asked Senso softly, at least glad her brother is awake now, but this did not look good at all. Senso twitched his ears somewhat as Anubis and Nemesis started to get back up, “...We stand our ground.” Senso spoke softly and moved to stand in front of Riley, gently pushing her behind him as Anubis and Nemesis shook off some dirt and stood in front of Senso, preparing for another attack even if the odds did not look good, hopefully help would soon arrive.
