Buns Backstory: Buns Story in School

Bun wakes up at 6 am every morning but this morning she awoke at 5 am in a sweat due to anxiety over her first day of a new year in high school. Her anxiety was high and she knew it would be rough. But how rough she had no idea. She slowly makes it to the edge of her bed to turn off her alarm. She turns off the alarm. She decides to paint for awhile before getting ready for school. Maybe it will clear her head a bit before her first day. Art always helped her release her emotions. Her thoughts were racing so much she could barely think clearly. So drawing something was a good idea, she thought that far at least. She drew for an hour and now before she knew it, it was time to get ready. What do I wear, she thought to herself. She decides to wear her usual dress. Whatever I wear I'll still be bullied, she thought. After all she was a weird creation being half bunny and half cat. She quickly grabs an apple and leaves for the bus soon after getting dressed. The bus was late as usual. Her and one other cat she did not know was waiting for it. The bus finally arrived. Bun hopped on and chose a seat which was right behind the driver. She sat alone. After an hour of sitting and watching the cats get on the bus they arrived at school.

School was insanely busy she thought. She got stares from every direction and it made her nervous. She thought she heard some cats calling her freak silently and lots of whispers between each other as she walked by. She got inside the building. She saw Patches and she waved to Bun in a friendly manner. Bun was unsure of whether it was genuinely friendly or not. Bun hated before school class time. Usually she waited for a half an hour after the bus dropped her off before class. She waited alone at a table and read her book until class finally started. The first bell of passing time rang and the madness started.

Passing time was pure torture. Looks, stares, and occasionally name calling happened towards Bun. Bun goes as fast as she can to class and waits there until final bell. Her first class was Math which she loved. Her teacher was Mr. Longnose this year. Students started coming in. Someone sat next to her. He looked nice but she was unsure how to approach him. He was cute in his own way she thought being all black.

Class started and everyone was in. Lots of cats that she did not know. Some of the mean ones were in her class. Hopefully they leave her alone. If she kept to herself hopefully they won't notice her. Class was long but when it ended she felt accomplished. She loved math. Next she was on to choir before lunch time. Choir was a good second class to clear her head.

She got up from the bell and hurried to choir. When she got into the choir classroom there was a new choir director from last year. Could be good, could be awful, she thought. Cats were starting to roll in slowly until finally it was a packed room just before the final bell. The new director got up and introduced himself. He said, "Hello my name is Mr. Puff." He was a dragon. Bun never thought she would ever see a dragon in her lifetime. But there was a dragon right in front of her very eyes. She was mesmerized.

Mr. Puff had the most amazing voice she had ever heard when he sang a solo after his introduction. Everyone was shocked at his voice, including her. Bun aspired to have a voice like his, and hopefully he can help her. He then described what they were going to do that day. He said, "Today we will be working on vocal singing exercises." That was Bun's favorite. She was thrilled about that. It would help ease her anxiety even more over the whole being in school thing. They started singing and she felt relaxed almost instantly and before she knew it the class was over. She went out into the hallway relaxed. More relaxed then she has been all day. She started heading towards english class when she bumped into the wrong crowd of cats.

The mean cats from choir surrounded her and Bun knew that this was not good. They started by calling her teachers pet, and that her voice was terrible, and that there was no way she could accomplish what she wanted in choir. She quickly got away and as she was leaving they called out, "You'll never be good enough crossbreed mutt!"

She gets to english and the teacher says, "Why aren't you at lunch?" Bun says, "Oh I forgot it is lunch time." She saunters out embarrassed. Well at least her backpack is there. Hopefully no one goes into it. She feels like not eating after what happened in the hallway, so she decides to do something else. She decides to go outside and sit under a tree for the half hour of lunch and read a book she brought from her backpack. The book was on science and nature and she was totally into it. She read and lost track of time until the after lunch bell rang. She slammed her book shut and literally ran to class.

She got to english and that same cat group that surrounded her after choir were in her class. She found it very threatening. Hopefully the teacher won't let evil happen to her yet again during class time. The teacher came to the front of the class and the mean cat group immediately snickered. "What's so funny?" asked the teacher. They laughed even harder the mean ones. Others joined in too. The teacher shouted, "Stop it! Stop it now!" Everyone was silent and mortified. He then asked Bun to step out of class so he could talk with the other students about their rude behavior. Bun left mortified and scared. When she reached the hallway she started to sob silently. She waited there and blacked out. The teacher called her in a half hour later and it broke her black out. She went in to class and sat down skittishly. She was so afraid of everyone. She was not making eye contact with anyone and she didn't want to until the bell rang. After all her next class was science, her favorite. This year it was Biology. She was stoked! She kept her eyes on science class for the rest of class and barely listened to the teacher teaching. 

The bell rang to signal the end of english. She was so excited to be out of there with the student body as well as the material in class. English was not her favorite. She was so excited to be in Biology that she forgot to sit by herself. She ended up being next to that cute black cat again. She thought about saying hi but decided against it. The teacher arrived late to class and everyone was chatting amongst each other. Finally he silenced everyone and turned off the lights. "Today we will be diving into Lightness and Darkness and the biology behind it." he announced and turned back on the lights. Fascinating subject, thought Bun. The teacher asked the first question, "What color light does the sun shine." Nobody knew the answer except Bun. She raised her hand and after she was called upon to answer she answered, "White Light." "Correct," said the teacher. Bun was so proud to show her strength to the class. Hopefully the other classmates thought of her as less inferior now. Class was so good she left after the final bell to end the school day. The day was over. Now she walked to catch her bus to go home finally after a whirlwind of a day. She would go to bed early and wake up just to do the same thing again the next day. School was hard but worth it, since there may be a cute cat friend in her future. Only time will tell with that one.
