It's common knowledge that sugar can crystallize but when subjected to extreme pressure sugar can also become gem or metal like. It's way too hard to eat, but if ground up it's essentially normal sugar. Due to being primarily sugar the ore can't be treated with heat. Instead the ore is sculpted with hot tools.
