The growing season this year was longer than normal. This not only enabled a longer crop harvest but also a longer duration for pesky barnacles to grow and multiply. This, unfortunately, also means that those pesky hitch hikers also live longer and multiply more on the dragons too. The yearly fall migration to have barnacles removed is a bit later this year. But for the locals over at the Taiga forest's edge, it's a greatly anticipated feast.
The local denizens, the Root Chompers, absolutely love eating barnacles. They meet the Aqrion on the beach at the very start of winter every year to delicately remove barnacles from the Aqrion's bodies. After which they enjoy a feast and the Aqrion are relieved from the itchy pest.
