It felt like it wasn't too long after you made Nathaniel that the shapeshifter mask item was released.
I've been wondering for a while since then if you would have approached him differently if that item was out before you made him.

    that's actually a really good question, though i doubt much would've changed - since like many characters and designs i make, he's a happy accident. as both Kate (https://www.paperdemon.com/app/art/view/57432) and Caspian have a very dark design pulling from their primeval forms, i wanted to try and design a lighter one - essentially what Jiteo (https://www.paperdemon.com/app/art/view/55370) became afterwards.

    and then my hand slipped and Nati happened lol. honestly i don't even know if i'm ever actually going to utilize that mask on him, but time will tell. at least it's there as a backup, if i do.
